Thanks for the video. I've been using FT8CN via Bluetooth with the BG2FX FX-4CR on 10m using a Gabil GRA-7350T with no radials on a 4th floor balcony. Made about 3 dozen contacts from 6 countries in no time. Takes portable operating to a whole new level!

Nice we need more of these that work without the need of a laptop. Most of us have phones and tablets. It would be better to use a cable lower noise.

Ay cheers for showing this app mate, I have been looking for a way to decode ft8 when im receaiving ft8 signals down at the beach with my antenna setup. Signals are really strong down there especially 28mhz since it is open. Its too much to bring my laptop with my rtl sdr and all that stuff but now i dont have to do it since i can now decode it with my phone.

Great piece of software! With IC-705 you can work completely wireless over Wifi. So you are not limited to Bluetooth (which is also possible) and it´s limited range. You can place the radio anywhere as long you can connect it (and your android) to your Network.

Hi, which version of Android do you use? My phone has version 9, and FT8CN won't listen to the microphone, even if I have given it explicit permission in Settings.

I understand RX and TX you have to press PTT on your ssb transceiver when the smartphone starts beeping? Is this right?

I've had great success with this app today on my Pixel 6 and my Samsung Active 3 tablet with my X6100. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it works well. I'm looking forward to further development of this app.

Hi... do you connect via Bluetooth to your X6100 or via USB?

@@stevelysack4011 USB. The X6100 Bluetooth connection doesn't support CAT commands (yet).

​@@BudTalbot Thanks! I have a Pixel 7 and have connected the phone to the dev USB port using my phone's charging cable. I have the 6100 on U-DIGI mode; however, I have no CAT control and audio on the app is coming from the mic and not the X6100 :). I'll keep poking around but if you have any advice from one Pixel owner to another, it would be great.

It is important to know that decoding level of FT8CN is somewhat weaker than of desktop applications because deep decoding needs powerful CPU, if you want fast decode. And you want it fast, because you want to answer in a seconds, otherwise you're late. This results in fewer decodes on the phone, but it's is still very cool.

Hi quick question, what about other noise (talking, odd bang) does it Interfere with the decoding?

It certainly does. Far better to have a cable to minimise this on receive. And for a cleaner signal on transmit. Stay tuned!

Good day, there seem to be a problem runnig FT8CN on an Ziegu G90. The sound is not directed to the radio, instead it stay on the speaker of the cell.. tested with 3 phones. Works well on IC-7100. Excelent app, Congratulations.

Worked fine with my g90 as long as i remember to put the g90 into usb-d mode. using a samsung s21. Also worked with an older samsung galaxy 7. Using a digirig and digirig cables to interface. Good luck!

The D I C with red boxes is an indicator if the contact is a new DX zone contact, ITU zone contact or CQ zone contact. It is just a helpful indicator that tells you it may be a new contact for you in that zone. I believe that it compares to the other contacts in already in the log of FT8CN. Cheers and 73 de W3LAM
