can you use the helmet again after an accident. like put the air bag back inside?
@PaulWarrenEaton4 жыл бұрын
It can be repacked, but it needs to be done by the manufacturer. But it’s actually similar to the recommendation of traditional helmets... if there is a crash or any chance of some damage to the helmet after a fall it should be replaced. I recall earlier reading that they offer a full no cost replacement if the helmet falsely inflates.

it's all about the safety. you can't put a price tag on that.

tom eng yes I agree. So it’s kind of funny that many people that this helmet is marketed towards want to ‘look good’ rather than wear something that actually might be the safest helmet available.

I wouldn't want it. You have to charge it. Im sure other daily maintenance things to worry about
@PaulWarrenEaton3 жыл бұрын
Only the charging. Nothing else to maintain. It’s not a daily charge thing. But I understand. This isn’t for everyone.

It is one of the products people won't buy. 300 € will be wasted & I doubt it insurance companies would approve it in case of failure.
@PaulWarrenEaton3 жыл бұрын
What kind of failure do you mean? If the unit accidentally inflates, meaning it should not have inflated but it does, the manufacturer will replace the unit. And as for insurance companies. Well I know of at least one insurance company in the Nordics that actually stock and sell the product in their safety store.

@@PaulWarrenEaton Well if every time it needs repacking the manufacturer has to do it !! Forget it then. No wonder my neighbor threw it out. That's why I'm. Here to see what is this product for ? Before I get rid of it as well.
@PaulWarrenEaton3 жыл бұрын
Well it’s kind of like a normal helmet in that if it actually is needed (you have a crash and head impact) then it should be replaced anyway. Most people don’t realise that accidental impacts of a regular helmet usually mean the manufacturer recommend you need to replace it. But I get your point about the cost and it feels like it’s a one shot and all that money is gone. Good luck with your decision.

You don't know how silly your opinion is. They've sold several hundred thousand units to date. You wish you sold such a product that people "won't buy." And according to many users, insurance companies will help pay for replacement costs in case of an accident. On top of that, Hovding has a crash replacement program that lets you get a new one for much less than 300€. So your neighbor supposedly "threw it out?" Unless he's filthy rich, I sincerely doubt it. And how can you "get rid of it" if you didn't even know what it was before watching this video?

@@amightysailingman read your comment and you'll find out who's the silly one here. You won't believe it, but 3 times I've seen such a silly product thrown in the recycling container

If you fall of your bike without hitting your head your bike helmet doesn't explode all of a sudden. Your bicycle helmet doesn't cost nearly 300€ either. Seems like a pretty dumb invation to me. Just a gimmick for rich tech nerds.
@PaulWarrenEaton4 жыл бұрын
In time the cost will come down. Also when considering this product and seeing other demo videos were the helmet has deployed, its clear to me it can protect more of your head than a traditional helmet can. Cost is the main reason I don’t have one. If I was a ‘rich tech nerd’ I would own one... for safety not the gimmick however 😃
