REVIEW. HALLOWEEN 1978 MICHAEL MYERS 1/6 SCALE FIGURE BY TRICK OR TREAT STUDIOS.

$120 for a 1/6th scale figure is absolutely unheard of, especially in the current collectible market. Sure, the Trick or Treat Studios Michael Myers figure needs to be tweaked here and there. However, for such a low price point, it would be a disservice for people to pass it up. The head sculpt looks great. The boiler suit has solid stitch work and tailoring. The paint application is clean. On top of that, the figure has some weight to it, which I really appreciate. Articulation is pretty good, minus the shoulder area. I also like the iconic box art, which looks great. Sure, the figure comes with only a few accessories, but I can make an exception this time around. By the way, the figure looks really good with the Cult Creations diorama display. With that aside, this is a solid Michael Myers figure release on the part of Trick or Treat Studios. You are the second person to review this wonderful piece (as well as ReviewSpot) and I'm really tempted to buy it, especially for such an affordable price. @@bmctoonz Awesome. Mezco did a great job with their ghost sheet. It was an actual completely separate headpiece that you could attach to the neck-peg. I wonder how TOTS will do it... Also I have my fingers crossed for the phone and an extra hand to hold it with... although I don't know if the current TOTS body has enough articulation to do the phone pose

Dean understands lighting, which is key! In the shadows, natural dim light like in the film, it looks great. I've seen so many vids of people shining a high beam torch in his face, completely washing it out and saying it's rubbish! And that's what people end up seeing and cancel it. Fools!

I have mine on order,and I've seen so many poorly taken photos,but I knew they'd nailed the headsculpt,and the coveralls looked great,just a shame that some collectors thought taking a photo of Myers with the flash on or in bright sunlight was a good idea,great review,and great to see a review with someone who understands how Myers should be lit

I've had one's customs 78 Myers and too be honest I truly like this one much better... not taking anything away from him. Some people say it looks cheap and does not look good. Personally I think there salty. For $120 bucks ya can't go wrong. Very well done Trick or treat studios!!! I actually bought two of them and then sold my custom one.

This is the figure that I retired with when it came to collecting. I could never find a good 1978 Myers until this came out. In my opinion it's perfect in every way and if you're a Myers fan, you have to have a figure of the original that you think works best for you. The only change I made is getting a black permanent marker and blacking out the eyes. Great review and I'm sure you feel the same way about yours, it was definitely worth getting no matter what. 🔪 🎃

I couldn't wait for your review as you have the most experience with 6th scale Myers IMO. I am very glad to see you prefer this. I had immediately jumped on the PO, even tho the sculpt didn't look all that great from some of the promos, and the hands looked terrible. I figured $120 alone for the coveralls was worth the price. I didn't think he'd end up being my definitive Myers, but he is. I am still in awe over this figure after having him a couple of weeks already. I did swap out the boots with some canvas ones. It took it to another level for me. I too will likely weather the hands. Currently looking for a phone as well. Thanks for the review.

They REALLY did their homework with this piece, which excites me even more for the other figures in the line. The ONLY thing I dislike, is the brown eyebrows. Not sure how they did everything so spot on accurately, and then decided to do that with the eyebrows.

Fantastic review Dean, really love the tone & atmosphere of your videos. Since you're the expert on Myers figures and own the best customs out there, could you do a proper comparison of this TOT figure and your perfect 78 Myers? You definitely lit the figure right, because on other reviews it doesn't look this good, especially the headsculpt, which makes me reconsider my thoughts on this. Still, I'm not entirely happy with what I'm seeing, especially what you mentioned about the sleeves lacking in length, and it doesn't look like there's double stitching everywhere contrary to your perfect custom one. What about the material of the coveralls? It looks a bit too thick. And then the biggest problem: the color. Would really appreciate your thoughts on those matters and a proper comparison with your best 78 custom. Also not happy with the hands, they really lack in details. The body looks way too cheap. Now I know it's a cheap figure, and I know the price of the customs, but we have to take in consideration this figure is mass produced, so they will make money on this. It's not like there are loads of stuff going on, what they need to do right is the headsculpt and coveralls mainly. And I'm still not entirely convinced by either of those. I think that the main giant problem with the headsculpt is that they did not make a proper mask. I think that's why almost no version of Myers figures looks on point. They shouldn't sculpt on a solid material. They should sculpt a goddamn mask (made of silicon maybe) and put it on top of a real headsculpt. That way we could do what we want with it and have a more faithful result. If you look back at Halloween from 1978, the mask never looks exactly the same, because on some shots, the mask doesn't sit the same way on the face. Sometimes it looks wider than in other shots. Because it's a mask, not a solid face. Still it looks great for the price, and it's definitely the best official 1/6 78 Myers on the market, no question, and it's already better than the upcoming Sideshow version. But I'm expecting more than this in 2020. Bear in mind I don't have the figure in hand, I'm just giving my thoughts having seen most reviews on this. Can't wait to see you compare this with other customs you own and switching the HS & coveralls. Amazing job Dean, once again.
