Many have asked for it so here it is, the review of our ice maker that we use on the show. We cover a bit about the ice maker and a few key reasons you may or may not want such a device in your own home.

I'm sry but it's just ice, I don't care if it's clear or cloudy it's just ice and not to offend anyone who says "well it would look more professional if it were clear" Derrick ISNT a professional, he's said that dozens of times. I love ice, im totally getting one of those. Thank you Derrick

i bought one on February around 890 local currency, broke in month and a half, took it back and they asked me if wanted a refund, exchange for new or buy something else and credit it, i took back a freezer and paid 600 more for it, now i buy ice at the stores at 4,7 a bag.

Hey I just wanted to say I got my ice maker for my favorite price free guy was throwing away ice maker a lot of other stuff and that's how I got it isn't working great ever since I got it being Arizona is a hot state but my question is is there a filter on it is in a water filter thank you and have a blessed day

I like that you don't use perfect, clear ice. The show is for the common person and we don't all use distilled water or agitate our water as we freeze it. I just use my freezer ice, but my demand is a lot less then yours. Thank you for the vids, they are awesome!
@Theninja8029112 жыл бұрын
Derrick if you really want your ice to come out clear You simply have to bring your bottled or distilled water to a boil two times cooling twice of course, then work the the water as you normally would in the ice maker and there clear ice. Reff; Food detectives on Food network.

Thanks for the review, it really helped. I'd been thinking of getting one as my water tastes awful (and the ice twice as bad) but now that I see one, I realize I have no where to place something that large. I'll stick to grocery store ice.

Use destilled water to get crystal clear icecubes. Then minerals in normal water is what causes it to cloud up.
@bonehead081612 жыл бұрын
its easy to make distilled water, just rig up some stuff you prob already have in your kitchen
@cerroselectric12 жыл бұрын
Ohh thank you!!!!!! Muchas gracias...lo he estado esperando mucho!!!@

I've researched the clear ice thing for a while. The reason it clouds is that as the sides of the cube freeze, it pushes the air and minerals to the center which is the last to freeze. The professional ice makers freeze the cube in thin layer upon thin layer so it all freezes uniformly. Boiling it several times helps with the cloudiness but it's not necessary. Here's how to do it. I know it's still a pain. wwwicedropmakercom/2011/02/how-to-make-clear-ice-that-actually-works/

Where and how do I drain the leftover water ?
@cmcocktails4 жыл бұрын
In the sink typically or wherever you wish to drain it
@RoamingDesertDweller12 жыл бұрын
Why don't you guys just buy a fridge that has an ice maker and despencer on the door?
@DanMowry12 жыл бұрын
Yup - it's not entirely minerals it's pesky air bubbles. Commercial specialty ice makers (craft services, not machines) freeze not from the outside-in (trapping air) they freeze in layers and often agitate during that process. Boiled/Reboiled water is dead. Not to everyone's taste.
@pizzabeerd12 жыл бұрын
boil the water first, then freeze it, your ice will come out clear. :)

By any chance Derrick, did you try boiling the water, letting it cool to room temperature, boil it a second time, again allowing it to cool to one more time, then filter it? it all sounds like a very time consuming pain in the buttcheeks but Ted Allen (of Food Network fame) tested this method out and found that the ice would come out clear.

i always wondered why your ice looks like frozen donuts

do you still use this ice maker in your video ? would be nice to see a 2017 video on your process for ice! cause i know ice is realy important in cocktail !
@cmcocktails7 жыл бұрын
I've created videos on the process I use today twice :) Once was last week on The Craft Cocktail, watch it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnWbaWeNaceibLc Make sure you subscribe too, that way you don't miss the next thing we do to answer your questions! But, no, I don't use this ice maker, I gave it away to my buddy Don's parents.

I have suscribe ;). And sorry i type ice in the search but it give me so much video about icy cocktail lol
@cmcocktails7 жыл бұрын
are you using youtube search or the search option on our channel main page (with the magnifying glass)
@JFSTL7 жыл бұрын
On your channel main page ! I just notice you got another channel :O
@cmcocktails7 жыл бұрын
yeah, I am very very surprised on how hard it is to communicate new things to people. I've had a new channel for weeks, each episode I try to promote it. I created that short screwdriver video to promo the new channel, mentioned it in a few vlogs, etc. And, every time I do I get 5 to 10 new subscribers. You'd think just mentioning it once would be enough to drive all the people to subscribe, but it seems to take people 5 to 10 mentions before people go "oh! you have a channel" -- it's kinda amazing. Marketing is hard!
