Awesome review! I've been using Key Leaves for awhile now and they've completely eliminated my sticky pads. Love em.

Trevor Jordan, thanks man. I had zero intention of using/reviewing them, but they really work well. You tried the vent vines?

I love this review! very informative and funny. Key Leaves also helps me keep my pads dry throughout the year as I play.

I do like the one for the lower notes, the ones for the top of the horn I found very tedious to put on and they are not cheap either. Fortunately I bought them on a half-price sale that they had I had written some suggestions to the owner and he is very responsive and helpful. Using these two items on my horn to keep the pads open you start looking around and you realize that there are a lot of other pads that are still closed so what’s up with that? how are they picking which pads to make kits for to stay open? Should I even worry about that?

Good question - Rulon, the owner, addressed the biggest problem first: sticky G#. By propping the low C#, it solves the problem. As for other pads, I think it's a matter of practicality and how much moisture accumulates in the bow of the horn. But, not 100% sure. Rulon is a good guy, not surprised you had a positive experience.

Ok fair enough but it only holds open , what , 3 keys? What about the other keys that stay closed, they must be subject to the same problems. I apologize in advance for all the commas.

C# and G# are opened by spring tension, hence the BIG sticking problem. The other keys you reference are all opened via direct lever action. They are subject to more wear/rot, though. But fixing sticky G# is a big deal to me.

Saxophone Academy this was actually a very useful post for me to read because I didn’t know those side keys were subject to rot. I’ve been using my own “key leaves” made out of the other part of the tree that comes in cylindrical form and can be gotten out of some Swedish assemble-your-own-furniture store free extra parts section. Also, some popsicle sticks. Now I know to do it for all keys.

I just use folded dollar bills to prop open keys, and leave them in the case. For the $20 price point, I can buy 20 dollar bills instead of two Key Leaves, they're easily replaceable, and you can even launder them if you like. (Most importantly, I always have cash on hand to tip the Bartender or Servers :)
