Trim the cork of your favorite wine ... same result at the cost of a bottle of wine which you were likely to buy anyway. No need to spend $20+

Received my Key Leaves, and only then realized that this product only props open 2 valves. My tenor sax has five more valves that also need to be propped open. Key Leaves seems overpriced for a partial solution. Let me explain my perspective. As a customer, I have a problem: 7 valves of my sax need to be propped open somehow. Key Leaves prop open 2 valves, or about 30% of my total need. 70% of the original customer problem remains unsatisfied after using Key Leaves.

Thanks for sharing your concern, Michael. I'd like to help you however I can. This product is just one of several we make to "leave keys open to dry." It does prevent the three sticky sax keys of G#, C# and Eb on all modern saxophones. When you slide the leaf-shape props under the key arms of Eb and Low C# that opens those two pads to air dry. Because low C# is also linked with G#, all three of those keys pads are opened to air dry. KeyLeaves.com/Instructions has dozens and dozens of graphics and how-to-video to show how to use this Key Leaves product on any vintage or modern saxophone. If your saxophone is a very early vintage saxophone that does not link C# and G# then you may want to adapt the Key Leaves strap and prop directly on the most sticky keys (as shown at KeyLeaves.com/Instructions). A custom-fit Key Leaves Vent Vine™ is available to protect all the keys from high palm D and up. Https://KeyLeaves.com/VentVine I hope this help. Please feel free to message us directly of call anytime. We're a family business working hard to provide responsive customer support and quality saxophone care products. KeyLeaves.com/contact

Thanks for the prompt response. I have a Yamaha Custom 875. I think $25 should be enough to spend on propping the keys open - all of the normally closed keys. Nowhere does your literature explicitly say that both of your products together are required for the complete solution - you'd set expectations more effectively if that was clearly stated. Seems all that is needed are some soft wedges of various sizes. Yes, it would be nice to have them strung together, but that is not super important so long as they are brightly colored. So now I'm looking for suitable wedges. 2' of shock cord of different thicknesses seems to do a decent job, they can be brightly colored and the cost is quite reasonable. I am open to other ideas.

We don't make products to open the side C or side Bb because sax cases almost always press very hard down on those keys, preventing them from safely being left open to dry. We note this in our FAQs page and I am not aware of any claim anywhere that our products open every closed key of the saxophone. I'm very sorry for your frustration. I cannot locate your customer record by name so perhaps you bought from one of our dealers. Please email me directly at info@keyleaves.com so I can learn more about your purchase experience and work toward correcting the miscommunication.

Everything I’ve read and watched is pretty clear that it only opens the 3 main keys that stick, C#, Eb & G#. I agree $25 seems a lot of money for 3 bits of rubber but you only buy it once and over the lifetime of your sax and extending the life of your pads it’s really not much. About the same as a box of reeds that wear out.

Hmm... My old mentor told me just the opposite: keep all the pads closed when you're not playing. He had an elaborate system of wedges that he would use to wedge all pads closed. He said they would keep their seal better that way. But hey this seems a lot easier! :)

This is definitely an easy, effective and proven way to extend pad life.. We'd love to hear your review after you try it out. Drop a comment back here or on your social with #KeyLeavesChallenge

That’s crazy, that just creates an environment for mould & bacteria to multiply.
