Review Kohler Revel Shower Door fix - part 2

Amazon has a part similar to the Kohler water diverter that Kohler sent me. Here is a link to that Amazon item: amzn.to/2BPVz7M It is described as "Frameless Shower Door Bottom Seal for 1/4-Inch（6mm） Glass,36-Inch Long, Vinyl, Clear"

Check the model number of your door before ordering. We have an R707551. This seal would be too short. Also the glass is 5/16", not 1/4 like some models. It's a fraction, but for an already unreliable seal you may want to be exact with ordering. Thanks.

Hey, thanks for the video! I bought my pivot shower door couple years ago and I am just now getting around to installing it. So I decided to go on KZbin and see if there were any Installation videos to watch, and came across yours. My door has the old bottom seal, so I will definitely get a hold of Kohler to get the new one. Without your video I would’ve been scratching my head and running into the same problem. thank you, glad you solved your proble. my problem is with Kohler Levity glass doors was that they stopped rolling well, I called Kohler and they said to call Home Depot to have someone come who could level them, did that but HD person had no idea how to fix it. Not happy with these doors after only 3 yrs.

rose sullivan I’m not happy with Kohler customer support at all. Even though I eventually got a person who could help in my first situation, I had to call them recently about another issue I had with the door. I got a similar run around that I experienced in the first situation. Very frustrating to deal with them. I would look elsewhere in the future to another company.

Deanne Pappe When you say it won’t stay on, do you mean that it slides out of the slot? That’s the problem I was having and I solved that problem by applying some clear silicone adhesive into the slot and then re-inserting the flap and that holds it in place.

@@michaelerbreviews I requested that part number and the extra flap did not come with it. Just the same seal . Is that diverter separate?

@@cathydempster8340 The part numbers came directly from Kohler Parts Viewer. I'd suggest you contact Kohler. It should have come with the newer diverter that attaches to the bottom of the door as well as the silicone flap. www.us.kohler.com/us/catalog/svg_viewer.jsp?productId=1097338&diagram=0

I'm not exactly thrilled with mine. The dinky pin that is supposed to prevent the door from opening too far and hitting the other piece of glass is completely useless and I would say unsafe. I've actually been wanting to complain to Kohler about this and your comment is the impetus I needed. I'll call them today.

@@ChuckD59 No resolution from Kohler. I consider the pin to be a design flaw. We are just very careful not to let the door swing open too far to avoid the door from hitting the pin.
