Many, many thanks! I only just heard of Landsknecht Emporium less than a month ago. I asked LE for Gustav and Gunter. Now I watch videos to tide me over as I wait.i wish I knew of your videos and Landsknecht Emporium much earlier!

Beautiful piece. Out of my price range at the moment (even though they are very reasonable). Was just wondering how you sharpened it. Thanks for some great cutting action.

I tried a couple of different methods, but what worked best for me was using a slack belt grinder following the advice in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mp_Hm6Vpjr2mgqM There is a follow up (kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5StlJJ3jalqrJI) to that video, which is also interesting.

Thanks for this review! I’m trying to decide between the Karl and Gottfried myself. I’m looking for something more nimble and light. It’s so difficult to know without holding them first!

I have a blunt Gottfried too. Eventually there will be a review of that, but I need more sparring time with it first to be able to say something about the durability.

LE have added more cutomization options and it is now possible to get this messer with a knuckle bow.

I've seen this knuckle bow on Gunter, I asked for the optional CC2 pommel though. I believe they are willing to do requests and changes different from standard offerings.

@@ssunfish I initailly thought that the pommel/pommel cap was an unnecessary option, but my blunt Gottfried messer disagrees. The handle gets hit every now and then in sparring and so far I've had to glue back a piece of the corner of the handle twice.

Wow, you should splice both videos together and send them to known European sword makers. maybe then will we have actually sharp blades out the box, in the future.
