This is my absolute favorite sketchbook brand. I have at least one in every size and I use them almost daily with pencil, pen and ink, and sometimes watercolor. Thank you for another excellent review and your sketches are excellent!

i’m currently using the Leda Odyssey for all my art. I like it! i got it as a gift, and it’s a bit big for me. If i got it myself, i would get it smaller, but it’s not a huge deal

This is my go-to sketchbook for years now, currently it is out of stock for german costumers but as soon as it is in stock again I will buy 3 at once! The moleskine in A5 is too small, but A4 feels to huge, thats s current struggle of mine 😅

I honestly don't buy sketchbooks anymore since I like the flexibility of making my own, but every time I see notebooks that look as nice as this I buy them anyway (I need to draw more to get through all of them ;-; )

I'm seriously considering this sketchbook now. It takes the mediums you used a lot better than I thought it would. If it can take water based markers without bleeding that's a good reason for me to get it. I have a lot of them because I love their vibrant colors. I've got to tell you this. I was playing with some scraps of Stillman & Birn Beta paper I have a couple of days ago. I tried some Sharpie Ultra Fine tip permanent markers and also a black Sharpie permanent marker with a chisel tip. I was amazed lol. No bleed through! o.0 Very very minimal show through with the black marker, I mean I could barely see it. None of the others showed any signs of any of these. It's totally cool. So now I'm going to try some of the other practice watercolor papers I have and see if the same happens with them. Water based markers can have a little variation in color on cold pressed watercolor paper from what I've seen. By the way, those impressions of ink lines will disappear or be a lot less visible if you put a black sheet of paper under the drawing. I don't know if this will work for scanning, but it works for a friend of mine who photographs items in his sketchbook. Apologies for the long post, but I just wanted to tell you these things. ^_^
@teohyc7 жыл бұрын
+James Barton The Stillman Beta sketchbooks are thick so they have minimal bleed through with markers but I do still see some. So while scanning, I would have a black piece of paper behind.
@higherground7117 жыл бұрын
That's good to know. When I get scanner I know a black piece of paper behind it would work pretty well. Awesome. ^_^ That helps me. Thanks Teoh.

Most customers say that the Leda bleeds with markers. Some people still like it because the paper is so fine and appealing. Heavy markers bleed to back of page and they are OK with it.

Hi Teoh. Love the review and your videos. Can you please state what pen you used for the ink portion of the active sketching. Was it a TWSBI?

Your review of this sketchbook is vunder-ful !! The only question I have is: ven you use the rainbow pencils, do you find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? If not, I would definitely return them and have them replaced with a set that does that !!! Again, danke fo' the review.

Can I write with a fountain pen? Doesn't tear paper? Does not pass ink to the other side?

Hi Teoh! How would you compare this sketchbook to the Stillman and Birn Epsilon softcover? I have both in my Amazon cart and just wondering which way I should go. Thank you for your reviews! I always try to use your afiliate links! :)
@teohyc5 жыл бұрын
Stillman and Birn has different types of paper. The paper in Leda is smooth and more suitable for pen and ink, not water media or markers.

Teoh. Thank you for the reviews. How did you get started sketching? Have you always been an artist? I am an architect. I have been sketching in a continuous series of books since 1985. However, I don't think I am as prolific as you are. Do you sketch everyday and how many sketches per day? Cheers.

@teohyc7 жыл бұрын
+Andrea Motas Mine the A5 size. Medium. Large is a bit too big and when drawing outside you will definitely need some support to draw on.
@garjog16 жыл бұрын
The size is 8.25 x 5.5 inches. A bit wider than most A5 books.
