I got mine in 8.3:1 sometime mid last year but due to being so busy I didn't get to use it until early this year. When I finally got around to using it, I was pleasantly surprised. I can cast 1/2oz jigs, full on, into a strong head wind without backlash. (Centrifugal set to 2 on, magetic set to 0, #10 Ande Envy Green mono, multiple rods with the same result) Lately, it's become my "go-to" reel. I'm really considering getting another one. The only other reels that I can do that with we're the old Shimano Curado/Citica B's with the centrifugal set to 3 on. Even with good settings on other reels, I usually have to hold back or "baby" my casts against the wind. Besides the light weight stuff, how do you like the casting on this reel? I've been wondering about other people's experiences with this reel. I think it may be a positive side affect due to the extended supported pinion gear. I need to get another Lew's reel with this feature to test out the idea.

Besides super lightweight lures, love it. With more miles on it now, even more impressed. Typically 2 of the centrifugals on for us as well. Yeah, it’ll bomb a 1/2 jig out there no problem. Haven’t been quite able to go no magnetics on our end yet, though. Definitely worth keeping multiple in the stall. And looks like they’re gonna be pretty durable. Thanks for tuning in!

Are your internal brakes set off or on?

At various points throughout the testing period, we used a variety of settings with the internal brakes. These days, most of the time, two on & two off. That reel is still rockin.

I'm looking at this reel for dragging T-rigs and C-rigs and heavier lures on a high-speed reel. This could be the ticket.
