1: those "liney things" are called the vent louvers. 2: it's not all plastic. The magnets are not plastic. 3:. It does not have batteries, it has magnets! I will agree it is a good phone mount for your car.

I bought something like that on Amazon because, I noticed my iPhone 11 heats up quickly, so the clip being infront of the slats on the air vent, it will help the phone cool down with the ac on. when it gets hot, I will turn it down so that it doesn't heat up more.

I purchased this for my IPhone 13 max pro it holds it ok, but the arm rubs against my dashboard ( side of vents) and it also constantly rotates downward. Wish I didn’t throw the box out so I can return it to Amazon.

Pretty sure this won't work with the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The vent fin is really deep

I think you can put it anywhere on the phone and you'll be fine

Note that the instructions say to stick the metal plate to your phone or to your case if you use one, but it is not recommended to put it between the phone and case.

Some misleading info here... You CANNOT put it sideways because the hook that holds it has FIXED position relative to its housing. Therefore, if your car vent blades are horizontal - you can only mount it UP or DOWN. You can only mount it sidways if your car's vents blades are vertical.

That is incorrect. The arm is adjustable and can be moved at 90° angles.

@@TheBreakdownWithLuke You are right. It required quite a bit of force and I thought I was going to break it. And finally it clicked and turned. Doing it while attached to the vent will break the vent blade for sure. That was not obvious and is not shown in the video. It doesn't fit my car due to the vent blades configuration. In the middle vent the blades are too thick and wide; and in the side vents the blades are angled, so won't allow the reliable grip. Thanks anyway.
