Nice review and tones , I have one of these and its super ! Play live with it all the time , usually go direct to the mixing board , occasionally I will run a stereo out to the return of a backline and use it as a cabinet . If you want to use with your amp the 4 cable method is fine too. Cheers!

I'm looking for a new rig for my current project. We're all going direct with no backline. Never heard of this brand until today and I'm really impressed. Also saw the iPod sized rig which is also cool but I like this type of pedal approach. I've used the POD XT Live and Fractal Audio Axe FX MKII and loved both of them. I want some up to date for my current project a Styx Tribute band!

Great pedalboard but I wish the LCD display was bigger or atleast if the icons were a bit more distinct. It looks like you're working on DOS/command prompt.

Does it have an Exciter effect ? An Exciter is the highly versatile effect which I note virtually all the expensive processors on the market fail to include. I am referring to the Guyatone PS-021 Guitar Exciter & Compressor of 1986. Nady also marketed it under license at that time. But since the GE-300 can model/record external effects, you should check out the PS-021 and program it into the GE-300. With that, you can step on a preset with the Exciter, placed after the Distortion, when you solo, getting the volume boost and sound enhancement at the same time. The PS-021 enhances your even harmonics, getting a valve amp sound. No other effect to this day can do that.

Great overview! Quick question...I have my Peavey 6505+ head that I still want to use its distortion...I know I can do the 4 cable method, but that's disables the amp+cab modeling. Do you know how to plug the Ge300 in a tube head so I could use both the amp modeling and the 6505+ distortion? Thanks!
@QuikdethDeviantart4 жыл бұрын
Benjamin Girard well, the distortion comes from the preamp of your peavy normally, so just plug straight in on the gain channel, but it will probably sound muddy to have an amp and cab sim at the same time. What you want is to split it so full sim goes to a PA and just send the fx through the amp. Good luck!
@bengirard19844 жыл бұрын
Quikdeth Thanks! Yeah the more I read about it, the more I’m thinking of having one rig with my tube head and using the GE300 for its effects and another one with a solid state poweramp like the Seymour Duncan Powerstage to use use modeling, depending on what situation I’m in. I’m getting older so bringing a big tube amp at every show can be a hustle sometimes haha
@SuperCMO79 Жыл бұрын
@@bengirard1984 Guitar plugged into the input. Send from the GE300 to the input of the Peavey 6505+. Return of the Ge300 to the Send of the 6505+. Output of the GE300 to the return. Turn off the Amp and Cab blocks on the GE300. Get your amp sounding how you want with distortion. Add effects Stomps up from for normal operation setups ..Rip on :)

Thank you so much for the video! I have a question and would much appreciate a reply: When changing patches from a clean to a higher gain or distortion patch, is there a sudden volume spike? I have the Ge 250 and I love the pedal but this is the only - but very serious - problem I have with it. It makes transitioning patches smoothly in a live situation very tricky, you have to mute your strings to avoid the sudden ‘clunk’ sound when changing to a high gain patch :-/
@wrap-itsolutions23872 жыл бұрын
Hi Lucas ... Ive been using the GE200 live for a while now and had the same problem ... A couple of things that will help is set the delay trails to "ON" so they keep playing when you change sounds (its in the system settings ... can't remember exactly what its called but its quite obvious when you go in there) ... I think this will solve 80% of your problem. The second is to put a simple eq pedal into a patch and adjust the volume there so it is the same as the previous patch ..... That way you don't have to mess around with the amp settings etc. Hope this helps!
@lucasdewitartist74062 жыл бұрын
@@wrap-itsolutions2387 thanks so much for the help! I also realised that the patches change not while pressing down on the switch, but when lifting your foot after pressing down. You don’t know about a workaround for this problem? Thanks again for the valuable information!
