Best Little Giant's Miele ever made along with the WS 5406. I worked in a nursing home laundry during the early 90s with these machines. The soap dispensers were located at the top and they were all 3 phase electric. The motors inside looked like elongated black WW2 bombs. Simple to use with no fuss controls and with the added bonus of being able to advance the program forward to exit the main wash and/or skip rinses. 10/10 for me. Happy days. 👍

I still remember as a Kid here in Australia, I visited a Laundromat that had few of these exact machines, which is very rare to see and yet today they are very impossible to find. These things never miss a beat, and I kind of miss these things

These are lovely machines. I know they are very old bud they have such a solid appearance. In my opinion this is a professional or semi-professional washing machine. If it is a professional washing machine, the user knows how to operate it. When the device is used in a normal household, the owner (because they have probably specifically chosen this machine) knows how it should be operated. Anyway, I live on the German border in the Netherlands and most farmers and housewives chose these machines in the past because of their reliability and long lifespan. But even today, most farmers still choose Miele washing machines because they simply wash the best. You can choose options such as a higher water level or, for example, regulate the pre-wash time yourself. In any case, we have the option not to meet all environmental requirements such as low water consumption or low energy consumption, but if desired we can also simply choose an old-fashioned program that is really necessary to get the dirty overalls clean again. Or, for example, to get the white milk cloths used to wipe the cows' udders hygienically clean again before they are milked. That is why we in Holland keep saying; Miele, there is none better!!!! Another pleasant feature of the machines is the washing time required for an intensive wash. Because most washing machines on a farm run all day (in the morning for washing the milk cloths and then for household laundry), it is not desirable for one wash to run for hours. Not forgetting that at the end of the day when milking has to be done again, the whole song starts over again. An old-fashioned Miele takes about 2 hours to complete a full wash program at 95°c with pre-washing. Other brands take about 4-5 hours to complete the same washing program. An exception to this are the machines from Schulthess! These are certainly as good as Miele and behave much like Miele. In short, a Miele or a Schulthess washing machine are and will remain the very best in terms of construction and reliability. They are a bit more pricey and less economical than other brands, but indispensable for farming families. So folks, don't be fooled, but stick to the old trusted brand Miele or Schulthess. There are simply no better machines!!!
