i have a 2017 vf2s ssv redline manual ute and my wife owns a 2017 ssv redline auto sedan, we have owned and loved holdens all our lives and when the holden factory closed we both bought our first ever new cars ,we are in our 50s, it was our last and only chance to buy one of these fantastic muscle cars, we were so lucky to have the chance to own one each from new , power , comfort , handling, pushrod v8, so awesome, factory 13 sec quarter mile time , love the sound , the pops, it's a dinosaur, were keeping ours forever , love your car too, they sound great rowing through the 6 speed gearbox , they make driving fun , unlike a boring SUV thanks for your vids, me and my wife look forward to more thanks mate

Thanks for watching. These cars are truly amazing. I wish GM would have brought over the ute and the wagon. I really think it was a missed opportunity for GM. These cars could been really successful here and could have saved the factory down under. Such a shame.

Nice video and I totally understand your point of view. Its a relatively big car, V8, manual. Will not see anything like it again but what comes close is the Dodge Challenger with the 6.2 or 6.4 with a manual 6sp. The feel from behind the wheel is something from the 60's & 70's but only better. If you get the chance try one. I have a 19 Challenger Scat Pack with the manual and feel like you do...Hope to be driving it for a very long time. Thanks again for the video. Long live the Manual Transmission!

Thanks for watching. I did drive a challenger hellcat about a year ago but it was an auto and I didn't like it because I could not get grip. I need to try a 392 with a manual. That's next on the list 😁

@@LimitedEditionMotorcars When you try it let me know what you think. I am also in Florida and just wish we had more sweeping turns to fully enjoy the manual.

@@cdale613 I definitely will. They both have the TR6060 which I love. I agree that Florida does not have any exciting roads, it's all flats and straights. The most exciting thing for me are turnpike exit ramps lol

Greetings from Merritt Island. I trust you got a great price when you sold it. You did nice reviews. I picked up a 2014 SIM with 4632 miles 2 years ago. It's definitely a part timer, had to compromise on the transmission, wifey doesn't like shifting so the 2014 fit the bill. I have owned manuals continually since I began driving in 1965 or so, and currently have a Nissan Xterra Pro-4x with the 6 speed manual. I use only minimal features on the My Link Navigation system, haven't tried to delve into it much. I'm keeping it bone stock, then in 5-10 years hope to find someone who wants to buy a low mileage SS as a blank canvas.

Thanks. Yeah I sold it for pretty much the same money I paid for it. I basically drove it for free for 2 years.

While I love my 15' SS, you are very incorrect about not having nannies and being easy to (In your own words "get away from you, its like a viper" It has Stability control and TCS, you have to hit the TCS/STB button twice to enter track mode but even then its not fully disengaged, you have to hold down the button for like 8 sec to completely disable both systems.
@LimitedEditionMotorcars5 жыл бұрын
My car slides all over the place with or without TC. I suspect my crappy Toyo tires have something to do with it. Once they depart I plan on getting some Michelins and hopefully the stability will improve.

Give Pirelli tires a try. Works great on 911's and at least one 08 Sebring LX I'm aware of.

I've got the Australian version of your car, and my 3 gripes are always the same. The chrome inserts on the dash reflect too much light. The front A pillar blocks too much vision. And the Brembo brakes are very dust producing....two days after a detail the rims are already getting coated again... But, other than that, no complaints. The big plus for me having an automatic is the flappy paddle drive mode, which makes a total of 4 different ways to drive the car. I would NEVER go back to a manual again. I found that the seats softened up a bit after a while. If the infotainment is a big concern for you, I have seen that there are a couple of aftermarket systems available for this car.
@LimitedEditionMotorcars4 жыл бұрын
I typically don't use infotainment systems in any car. They all suck in my opinion and nothing more than a distraction.
@gwilson6644 жыл бұрын
I wonder if the owners of the manuals ever test drove the the auto in sport mode with the shifter or upgraded shift levers? Because it's awesome and it eliminates everything that they ALL complain about, you get the best of both worlds without any of his complaints.
@LimitedEditionMotorcars4 жыл бұрын
The whole point of this car is the manual trans. With an automatic it's just another sedan and there are better cars out there for the money.
