I just picked this up for €349! I was watching it for a long time on line and bang one day it had disappeared from the website. I contacted them asking if they maybe had one left lying around and I got a brand new never used b stock with no box for that price! Think I got a deal 😊

Nice review. I have been using a Z2 with serato dj pro & it functions almost identical to this mixer. Will be on the look out for 1 of these though

I don't get the 2 USB ins. They are not to be used as sample source or show in my software as a drive? They simply put them out there just for charging as you mentioned? REALLY :D ?

Yeah it is kind of silly. You can't even use it to connect Another laptop or switch between.. I use it to power a small LED light.

Hi Johnny, I not long purchases the mixer. Great. I just want to know if your channel volume faders have little resistance like the cross fader? My channel faders just feel a little to loose like cross fader. Is it meant to be like that? I know cross fader is for scratch mixing. But the channels seem a bit too sensitive. Thanks

I hope when come the MK III will improve the equalization because the mk II does not cut off on any band. Almost all battle mixers they have KILL but not in mixars duo mk II

Yeah its ashamed for those playing vinyl..and especially guys that do those long blends. It's not a deal breaker for me because in Serato DJ it does kill through the software. Especially at the price point

You said the S3 doesn’t record? I may have misunderstood what you said. But I had the pioneer S3 and I was able to record mixes. Like I said I may have misunderstood what you said. I have this duo tho and it’s the best mixer in the price range. The numark scratch is 500$ and has Serato built in but this mixer is bigger and looks more professional and is solid

Hello , Would you buy this or the Pioneer DJM250 MKll if you were a beginner and they were both the same price?

That one uses record box I believe. I am serato guy. With that being said that magvel fader is superior to the fader on the Mixars. The Mixars has better booth outs and record outputs on the back. Not too familiar with that pioneer DJM 250. But I am using an S9 now which has the magvel. And I am really impressed with it. The Mixars i think overall is heavy tank & built well.its a hard call. For the same price might stay with Mixars. But I would lean now towards the Pioneer because Mixars is not around anymore..

@@hartburn6301 I think its playing Vinyl just about as good as others in its price point. When using vinyl the Mixars will not complete kill the EQ's. Hi mid & lows. That feature only works in Serato..I am not sure about the Pioneer.

Hi. I have a question. Mixars Duo MKII can post echo to crossfader (don't cut echo) when scratch same DJM-S9?

DJAUN93 Thanks for your question. The echo will cut out with fader. No post fader echo out. It does work with the line fader. If you use the cross fader the effect will go away.

If i was using real vinyl with this mixer what would be the best way to do a recording?, using the record out (RCA) or using the PC to USB out?. Fantastic review BTW..

Hi thanks for commenting, I use the record out. I am not really sure if you could use the USB to record. I use the record out and run to a separate USB interface and separate computer. Or you could just run that RCA straight to a device of your choice.

@@ciejedi I use a Yamaha it is reviewed on my channel. But I am sure other ones would work as well. Roland M Audio make portable recorders as well. I have a Microtrak that I use. Yes I am happy with the mixer.

@@DJJohnnyTapia Ok dude , I just viewed your Yamaha review (I could be sold), I'll wait until I receive the mixer (just bought one, couldn't wait, should have by next week) and see how it records with my current setup. I mix real vinyl 80% of the time and I use Serato the rest (I'm not big on using effects), This could be my perfect mixer..When I get I'll let you know what I think... Thanks once again mate.

Hi please help me out i just bought a new MIXARS DUO MK2 with an input DVS that could work with serato and I'm trying to use it with my CDJ 1000mk3 since i bought it hasn't work with with Serato please how do i come across this issue

Hi, I don't use CDJ's with the DUO, but there is a switch on back of mixer, near the RCA inputs try switching it. Think it says phono line.

Just got mine, hooked it up download drivers, but when I load a song the screen platter in Serato Dj doesn't move. What am I doing wrong?

AARON REYES huuh? Your using timecode Vinyl right? Make sure your in relative or absolute mode.

Make sure that it is on phono instead of line. The same thing happened to me when I set mine up. I just got mine last week and I love it. I sold my traktor Z2 back to guitar center. I'm very comfortable with this mixer. It's almost a carbon copy of the Z2 but I like this one better. Was going to get the pioneer djm-s3 but there is no booth output. I like the 2 usb ports on the back because I'm thinking about getting the rane 12's somewhere down the line when I get the money for it.

Hey man, my Duo arrived today (slick looking), one problem i hope you can help me with, when i turn the low, mid and high right down I'm not getting full kill, i can still hear the music through the speakers. any advice would be appreciated, I'm sure its not meant to be like that (i hope). Only when playing real vinyl.. Cheers..

Hi, actually I went to check my DUO just to be sure. I see that this happens when playing Vinyl switched to "phono" mode. You are correct. It seems to not completely kill. I hear it as well. In Serato mode/Time codes, it completely kills the frequency. I am guessing this has something to do with the filter being an effect that is not software related. In vinyl mode I did try the EQ's Kills and turned the filter all the way to the right. This literally killed all the frequencies. But you can't isolate them. Yes, this is unfortunate. But I am glad you mentioned it..so other know. It is still a great mixer in my opinion. Thanks for pointing this out.

@@DJJohnnyTapia Thanks for the reply mate, unfortunately ill be asking for my money back, This is unacceptable for a mixer at this price, i mostly mix real vinyl (i need full kill), if i knew about this in advance I would not of purchased this mixer. @DJ VB Ha, 1st - I still gig and still love it (25 years + now). 2nd - I have no problem carrying vinyl to gigs (I'm a big boy). 3rd - I have just under 8000 records and still collecting (luckily I own a big house) 4th - You assume I'm not keeping with the times, I've used Serato for 10 years +. I only play vinyl at gigs and serato is for when me and the boys and the occasional girl have a session a mine. Thanks for the comment dude, kinda made my day (I'm easily amused) Happy mixing man...

From what I understand the Rane 12's will work with any serato enabled Mixer. The duo does have 2 usb inputs. If your mixer did not, you could use the USB's on a laptop. Thanks for watching

That may have been first versions of the mixer. The fader the duo mk2 have now are great as well

@@DJJohnnyTapia I have Roland DJ 808 and it does not include it either. I do not understand that policy of serato with the Mixar table, when the client uses with DVS. with pioneer djm 450 include DVS recorbox. Do you know by chance with the djm 450 table can I use Serato? Since I have it with the controller Roland and not move to another system. Thank you very much for your reply.

@@jbmarquez2842 as far as I understand the DJMS-3 is Serato enabled. And obviously the popular and pricey DJMS-9. I believe the 450 is rekord box only. Like the older djm-250. Pioneer is pushing it's on Rekordbox software now.
