Main issue with this one is the engine, 1.6 petrol from bmw. Very leaky and thirsty engine when it comes to oil consumption. I have 1.6 155hp and 200 hp as well. Both have the same issue, with one difference. 155hp drips oil, while 200hp only consumes it. All mechanics I visited said that this is a common and known issue with them.

so absolutely true. Bought a 1.6 with just 120hp and salesman already warned me it consumes too much oil, an extra 500ml every 3000kms. Just had it checked and no oil dripping anywhere.

@ W Trolleybus: Actually the 308cc wasn't cheaper as the SLK back then, when released. 28k for 156hp or 32k for the 200hp was actually price-level of merc.- and how much U are getting now for a over 10 year old SLK ? Iam gettin for the last 308cc Generation (2011-2013) still easy 14K ;)

Nice car, but unfortunately with my 190cm height it was impossible to sit in the back... Furthermore the stiff backsides of the sport seats limit the back space even more.... The megane 3 cc is more convenient herein.

with my 179 it's not easy in the front too, or you sit so low you don't see the front properly
