Thank you for this video. I am French and sorry for the translation. I bought this car new in 2020. The latest version before Peugeot stopped making it because of this European dirt... It's just fantastic. The last GTI with an internal combustion engine that honours Peugeot in its sports history in the 1980s. It consumes nothing, very reliable (the only one to be reliable in 4 cylinders) and still as beautiful and watched on the street. It's nice to see your great automotive country focussing on this queen. Peugeot makes medium-sized cars but it has always been very good in small sports cars. Just like Renault and its excellent MEGANE RS.

Yeah They are but Forged from factory 😃 mahle race pistons etc..and it's pushing 2,5bar from stock, 380mm brakes, 1205kg..this car is full of extreme for its segment.

Peugeots have always been nicer to drive than the avg vws. Everyone looks at the spec sheet, not how the car actually feels and makes you feel when you drive it.

In the 50ml zone I’d set my cruise control to 51mph and was trying to get past those cars on the left. Finally caught you up on the M25 which all that crazy traffic. It was my final stint of driving back from the Nurburgring where I’d fell off an electric mountain bike of a major down hill section around the outside of the track have ruptured my achillies tendon! Driving a manual car back all that way was not fun! 😂😂😂🤣🙈

They are a nice car. Peugeot finally made something decent to compare to the 205 GTI although it still falls a little short. Overall great cars and suprisingly fast for a 1.6. The brakes are excellent even if there is an issue with the pistons. I owned one for a year and had alot of fun in it but the lack of tuning available for it saw me sell it for something with better tuning potential.

I've test driven the stock 270 in 2015 for 48hrs test drive thanks to Peugeot UK...Amazing car...its like a dragon fly...so light and nimble...brakes are brutal best in class no question...1200kg is seriously light... Ive burned 2x petrol tanks in 2 days😂😂😂

Less than 1000 of these on UK roads (as of Q4 2021 there were only 719 of the 250 & 270 bhp PEUGEOT 308 GTI BY PEUGEOTSPORT THP SS and 251 of the PEUGEOT 308 GTI PURETECH S/S 260bhp variant). Great fun cars and brilliant round winding roads. Floor it round a corner and that LSD just pulls you round, holds to the road so well. Such a sleeper of a car as it just looks like a normal family hatch (unless you have a rather over excited pops and bangs map on 🤣). Shout out to Ben at Godspeed for sorting the UK out with decent pistons for the brakes (shame on you Alcon/Peugeot)

The aerial was from AliExpress! But for a Renault Captur! Look it up. It fits straight over the original Pug one.

Yes, around 2015 if i am not wrong BMW stopped making cylinder heads and PSA completely started doing the whole engine. Mostly THP205 THP208 THP225 THP250 THP263 THP270 are the newly improved engines without any problems. Cheers from a 308 GTI owner!

Had a 308, 155 hp was fine, but the engine was shit. Had to be cleaned almost every 1.5 year. Got a 2019 Golf TCR now. The only (huge) thing i miss is the comfort of the peugeot.

An the 208 are more so seen although they are uncommon. At least I see them. I think the 308 I’ve only ever seen 3 on the road since about 2017. Two of those times was in my own 308. One behind me. I was shocked and one that was at a junction on a roundabout I was on in mine. Owned since 2020. So just 2 3 years.

Golfs R are too boring pal. Even gold R owners said that that's why They keep selling them as They're not that much fun..308 GTi is 400kg lighter and handling is another level honestly if you never been in one you don't know what I am talking about 👍

@@ejdydmj1650 I'd completely agree with that mate, unless you've actually driven one of these you can't appreciate how well they handle. I've had plenty of GTIs over the years (XR2, 205 GTi, 306 GTi6 etc.) And the 308 GTI is by far the best handling, it grips and handles so well, you can just floor it round corners and it holds to the road so well. Yes there are faster cars but the 308 GTI is the most fun car I've ever driven.

Haha yep, not a few grand on mods then plus second hand purchase price. Also has 70nm extra torque. The map is super linear so feels composed and progressive and never aggressive!

I use Direct line for my 308 GTI. Get money back at end of policy if drive less than predicted etc. Also multi car discount helps too. 👊🏼👍🏻

I have never driven a better handling fwd car than the 308 Gti BPS. But the prices are way to high, the seating position is sh*t and there isn’t a lot of aftermarket parts. But the handling is beautiful👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

I own my 308 GTi BPS for nearly 5 years and never had single issue when with seating position 😃 absolutely love it. But mine is tuned even more including custom built airbox, Custom induction kit with oil catch can, custom intercooler kit with hardpipes etc..it's plenty going on..few videos on my channel..👍 mine is 330bhp 470nm 1205kg

Yes it is I been racing Golf R and I beat ir every time. Golf is quicker off the line but when I had traction ( and it didn't take long thanks to LSD Torsen, Michelin Pilot Sport 4s) I got them 👍 not just golf r tho 😉..people don't believe in till They see it 👍

Bhp per litre it’s actually pretty good to be fair. It’s got nearly 200bhp per litre! 197 infact. It’d be like an M140i having 590bhp! And they’re fast! It’s got a higher bhp/litre than a Porsche 959, Bugatti Chiron, Ferrari 488 Pista, Porsche GT2 RS, McLaren Senna, plus many more. Yep, I agree with you my engine sucks!!! 😂😂😂🤣👊
