This was my duty weapon from 1992-2000 while I was a Riverside County Sheriffs Deputy. Great weapon, I switched to a G17 in '00 and just couldn't justify the weight anymore. The 4006s were smooth shooting, reliable and as accurate as the individual could be.

Same. My duty weapon with the CHP from 1999-2018. Transitioned to the in M&P .40 in 2018. The 4006 was a boat anchor of a weapon. Solid, reliable with good accuracy. I bought mine back when we transitioned to the M&P. It’s now sitting in my safe retired.

.40 s&w is the ideal cartridge caliber, but 180gr was always too heavy, great for 10mm auto though, between 135gr minimum and 165gr maximum parameters with 155gr/150gr being the best bullet weight!

Great video of a fun shooting pistol, I bought the model 410, .40 "value series " years ago, same configuration but in black steel/aluminum.

Carried the 9mm version as my duty weapon when we swapped out the revolvers in 1990 or so. Loved the 9, and with 40cal ammo being so inexpensive and in such huge supply - getting one of these is good buy.

My 15 year old daughter loves shooting this over my Glock. The extra weight makes it such a great shooter for her. Thanks for the video! I own 4006,4046 4006TSW 4003TSW and a 410 and 410S as well.

I have three of them two 4006's and one 4003. They are the same guns, the 4003 has an aluminum lower half and is lighter to carry of course. They are built like a tank. The experts say it is the ONLY handgun specifically made to shoot the 40 S&W round. The other 40 S&W pistols are 9MM frames modified for 40 Cal. The cheap to buy versions are about all gone, if they are cheap they usually have a lot of wear. One of these guns I buffed it up to almost Mirror finish and it is really a good looking fire arm. It seems gun sights for this gun are hard to find. I wanted to replace the sights on one of them but I could not find any to fit it. I carry one of them with 180 grain JHP law enforcement grade ammo. My "tests" are not scientific, but judging from the damage to certain targets it is at least as powerful as a 357 180 grain fired from a revolver. The 40 S&W has a lot of stopping power for sure. Of course it has a lot of recoil too, but you cannot have it both ways. My mags for this gun are 11 round mags. It is designed to carry with a ROUND IN THE CHAMBER and OFF SAFETY. The 13 Pound Trigger Pull in Double Action Mode is the "safety". In other words it is like carrying a REVOLVER. After the first round, one can continue shooting in single action mode OR Decock and leave on safety or NOT leave on safety and rely on Double action again. In OTHER WORDS you have CHOICES in how you want to carry the gun. These guns were down to $150 bucks for a long time, I bought all of my for $400 bucks or LESS. None of mine were cop guns, and one of them was nearly BRAND NEW it had only been fired a few times. They are great pistols, but the cheap ones are gone it appears. Some are HAMMERLESS, and double action only, I don't care for those. BB

Thanks for the info. I'm looking at one on gun broker that I might get for less than 300 but needs a buffing possibly because the slide is really scuffed

Grandpa bought 1 back at launch in the 90s. Beautiful gun. The weight has to be felt. Taking apart is a bit more intricate than a m&p.
