*UPDATE June 2016*: I ended up returning this to CostCo for a full cash refund with no issues at the service desk, with no receipt and only a membership card. It kept leaking gas right out the side of the carb and into the air filter... the CostCo employees could not have been more pleasant about it. I love CostCo.
CostCo Model# PS80310EP8. Paid $269.99 on sale. Originally $299.99. 3 Year Warranty, though I read CostCo will warranty it for life because it is not a consumer electronic. Feel free to ask questions in comments.

Thanks for sharing! One year ago when I decided (procrastinator) to purchase one from Costco they were sold out. It's back again at $299.00 plus shipping. I'm going to wait a while to see if they offer it at $269.00 and no shipping. Your demonstration has convinced me this is the one that I want. Even if I have to pay $299.00 Thanks again!

For tough cleaning jobs you need to hold the nozzle closer to surface and also hit the surface at right (90 degree) angle

Striker--pretty damn good review IMHO. Shows what the average homeowner may run into. Just one piece of advice my Dad taught me when I was a kid...and I'm 54 now. "IF ALL ELSE FAILS, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS....AND IF THAT DOESNT WORK....TRY FOLLOWING THEM!!!😀😀😅. You had me LMAO with arm movements like a rifle recoiling and making smiley faces with the wand. Seriously, do a follow up video after you've used it for a job or two or three. I'm seriously thinking of buying this from COSTCO given their warranty and customer service. Thanks again & good luck! Wm. ~

Just took mine back to Costco for a refund. After one use, I noticed unusual wear including a tear in the hose. I'm researching others before I go back and replace it with another PowerStroke.

That's a good looking machine and definitely a nice value as far as normal homeowner grade machines. Just be sure to winterize that pump if you expect any sort of freezing weather. Oh...and use 100% gas or some sort of fuel stabilizer too keep you carb from clogging.

***** The subaru will take the stucko off the house if you get too close with the red or green tip. Start off with the lowest pressure nozzle and work your way up. I believe the white nozzle is what you would need as the blue one is for soap but try the blue one anyway. No need to use more pressure than necessary. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback... Need to stop by Costco before the $30 coupon expires
@logginlocos9023

Just used mine for first time yesterday. Costco had $30 coupon and then sent another $10 gift card in the mail as additional savings. Pressure wise it is fairly strong. had initial starting issues with choke on cold start and it shook and convulsed for a while. The pressure would all of a sudden go down and then back up. However, after the first 20 min of usage, it stabilized. I was able to restart it quickly with the electric start button and choke on warm start after some refueling. Cleaned my stoop, brick walkways, fencing and sidewalks very quickly. Took away 23 years of dirt and stains, including some green moss. Overall good but, they have serious quality control problems. This unit comes with a battery charger. The plug-in harness where the charger pludgs in was not properly screwed to side plate. The screws were partially in but stripped and stuck. Had to use pliers to undo them as the Philips heads were also stripped as if they tried to fix it but gave up when they stripped the screw heads. Noticed on the Costco display the wire harness from battery to motor had plug cover. It was missing. Now the big issue: the use green gift wrapping ribbon to secure the hose. I noticed at each area where one of the ties/ribbon was touching the rubber casing is rubbed off and you can see the silver mesh lining. I had to borrow a friend's hose. Will be contacting manufacturer or exchanging unit at Costco.

Costco's coupon book is out and has this for $30 off.. They also changed the design. I have the one pictured in the video with the stupid red button. The newer one has a separate button to turn on and a separate button to push ignite. Much better than the previous design. Also the lever for choke has changed and is much better.If you can get the newer style do it. JUST as great as the one we have (in video) but with much added features that make it better over the course of a year or two that the other one has been out!

+Rochelle Voelker I have yet to use the soap tank but the manual says it is automatic when you use the soap nozzle: "AUTOMATIC SOAP INJECTION SYSTEM Pour pressure washer detergent into the soap tank to apply detergent quickly and easily to your cleaning project. Use of the soap nozzle will activate the soap injector at a 20:1 dilution ratio."

Hey bud, did you try it with soap yet? And would you recommend it reliable enough for a business?
@striker1211
@striker1211 8 жыл бұрын
+Sammy Martinez I have not tried it with soap yet. I had an issue where it kept flooding itself out and gas was flowing out of the bowl so I literally had to hit the bowl with a rock and it unstuck the float. Also, the electric start only works half the time unless you choke it (even when warm) so if I was going to be using it every.single.day. I would buy something better. The lifetimes warranty doesn't technically cover commercial use either. CostCo had a Honda a few weeks ago that I would have traded the subaru in for if it hadn't of been freezing cold and a blizzard out.

Can a peel off old paint from Iron/Metal fence ?
@striker1211
@striker1211 6 жыл бұрын
If the paint is flaking off sure, but if it was adhering well I would be doubtful. It stripped old and newer paint off wood no problem but I would think the metal paint used on an iron fence would be better than every-day latex.

Of course don't try it unless it is on someone you really don't like, then plead ignorance, but your skin will respond to the high pressure nozzle pretty much like cardboard. Thanks for taking the time to do the demo. If you do remove someone's fingers, be sure to video. You'll probably have some record hits on viewing KZbin.

You may want to read the instructions again. You DO NOT need to hold the trigger while starting it. You only have to press it for a second prior to starting to relieve pressure from the pump! And what was with your hands going back and forth once you got it running like you were holding a canon?? Lol
@striker1211
@striker1211 9 жыл бұрын
Jon Stegmeir Indeed you are correct about that. You only have to relieve pressure prior to starting it. And the very first time you start it during a day you have to let a steady stream of water go through the nozzle by pulling the trigger while it is off. Also, I was playing with the "Canon" because it was fun :)

I own this model, unfortunately. I bought it thinking the Subaru engine would be as good as their cars. Not even close. The engine won't stay running. I called the service number for Powerstroke. After 15 minutes I find out they just assemble the units and DO NOT SERVICE THE ENGINES. So rather than have one place to go, you'll have 2, one place for the pump and another for the engine. The battery is undersized for the unit. You'll only get about 5 tries to start. The charger plug holder's screws will shake loose after about 10 minutes of running. The original spark plug had a large chunk of the insulator broken off. You cannot adjust the psi of the spray as on other brands. I hope Costco will give me a refund.

Well, that does it! CANNOT *STAND* this any longer! Aargh!!! FWIW, the pressure produced by the pump of this machine is 3100 psi, while the nozzles change the spray pattern -- thus, having near nothing to do w/the pressure. Please *READ* the Owner's Manual. There is *information* in it! The review does, however, present a striking portrait of the typical low-information inhabitant now making up the vast majority of the US population. That being the case, it's worth its weight in iron pyrite...

hey old timer, the different nozzle's would have a direct influence on the psi output of this model. Do you know what the psi is when the blue nozzle is attached? It's not in the information rich Owner's Manual.
@nknatewood8226
@nknatewood8226 7 жыл бұрын
huckleberry12: It should be 3100 psi±, just as this machine is rated to be. However, that rating may be off by as much as 500 psi±, depending. W/a nozzle change, what's actually happening is an increase or decrease in flow velocity, again depending on nozzle size as is denoted by nozzle *number*. The nozzle *color* usually denotes spray angle, not pressure...
