I own the Blackfoot 130 and loved it for fishing. I went ahead and bought the Blackfoot 160 for the extra added room for my fishing and camping equipment along with my dog. I use an electrical digital air pump to inflate the kayak. I have never bothered to strap the seat down because when I am sitting in it fishing it is not going anywhere. I bought this Blackfoot 160 during the holidays during a black Friday sale and got 420.00 dollars off the original price plus free shipping. Also Aquaglide has the new snap in fin for its inflatable kayaks so you do not have to use the small screw to secure the original fin. Blackfoot inflatable kayaks are a lot easier to get around with less weight and not having to throw a 100 lb plastic kayak on top of your roof carrier.

@stephenhouse6194 How well are you able to maneuver the Blackfoot 160 by yourself? I am looking into getting a 160 for me and my wife to use but I’d also like to use it for fishing when I go out solo. Is it hard to maneuver the 160 by yourself? Or would you say you need a second person?

I also love the boat. I prefer to use it with out the seat extensions. With seats in the lower position you have a lot better paddling strength. The tall seat position is comfortable for a chill float, but a kind a weak position for a tough paddle.

hpw does it perform with ocean waves

I’m taking it out in the sea mid July but the waves at the mouth of the estuary were pretty lumpy. Something to consider: these boats are primarily made for the US creek, fishing market. While they will perform well for other uses (like I showed in the video), they will be susceptible to offshore and side winds in coastal areas. Would I use the be in the sea? Yes, because I make sure I know (as much as one can) the weather conditions I’ll be paddling in and I’d make sure my second paddler was proficient at managing any issues. It’s a great boat for what it’s made to do, if ocean paddling is your thing then I’d get a Sea Kayak or similar. Hope that helps.
