Thanks for the great review. I just got into Trap shooting about 2 months ago and bought an inexpensive CZ O/U. Started out hitting 3 or 4 clays in Trap. Been really improving and now also shooting Sporting Clays and the other day I borrowed a Browning BT-99 for Trap and immediately hit 24 in a row... barely missed the 25th bird. So I soon will be upgrading to a new O/U and I am really looking at the 725. Just need to test drive it (which I can at my Sporting Clay location). Thanks so much...!

Hi Alan, really pleased to hear your enjoying getting into shooting, its addictive!!! The 725 range is super and absolutely perfect for clay shooting in my opinion. There will be a review on my channel soon of the 725 PRO trap - so keep watching as I think that may interest you! Stay safe

Thank you for the honest review. I just saw that Browning is releasing this gun in the USA in 2024. Now I cannot wait to pick one up. If you are in Naples, Florida, then visit our local club, Gulf Coast Clays.

Thanks for a great review I recently bought a browning 525 sporter 1 for clays great gun the only problem I had which was my fault is the second shot the trigger was going stiff after I read the instructions I realised I wasn’t letting the trigger fully out to reset Think Brownings great 👍 guns thanks for posting great video 👍👍

I have one of these and also an XS Pro……..the 725 is distinctly lighter! As a clays shotgun, this isn’t heavy at all. 9 lbs is heavy! I like the fact mine is a touch barrel heavy, it slows everything down, which is a good thing. On the face of it, the XS Pro should be considered the better gun, but……..I wouldn’t want to have to choose between them, I’m glad I have both.

Hi Luke, no I didn't do any pattern testing. However I imagine the chokes would be very similar if not identical. Thanks for watching!

The Browning Citori 725 Sporting in America is quite a bit different from the 725 Sporting Black Edition in Great Britain from what I can tell. Puzzling? ? Looking at mine, the recoil pad, stock finish, barrel & receiver blueing, the forearm style, stock checking, receiver engraving, and front site are significantly different. I don't know why this is. And honestly, my 725 Sporting w/ 30" barrels balances perfectly at the hinge, fits like a glove, is very easy to mount, and isn't the least bit too heavy. I am baffled with your remarks about weight and size. Finally, I don't know why the American and British models are so far apart?? Tom
@theseatedgun2377
@theseatedgun2377 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom thanks for your comments and feedback. The gun I reviewed here is the 725 sporter black edition, the Citori is browning's light weight model so although the action is the same the gun is completely different, hence the differences. The differences between your 725 and the UK version is down to country destination and what each demographic in that country looks for. Here in the UK the market is heavily influenced by price and looks, whereas in the states I can only assume Browning have made a gun that fits what they believe American hunters want. Hope that answers your questions. Stay Safe

@@theseatedgun2377 From the 2020 USA Browning catalog: "With a 725, you get the "one with the gun" feeling you want, with the long lasting durability you expect from a Browning over and under. And the features don't stop there. The 725 showcases an all-new Mechanical Trigger (FireLite) that offers unmatched feel and lighter pull weights than ever before. Inflex Technology has also been added to make shooting more comfortable. And the new Invector-DS choke system moves to a new level of performance. Experience the benefits these improvements can do for your shooting with a new Citori 725. The published weight is 7 lb/11 oz. well under the 8+ pounds given in your gun review.

@@theseatedgun2377 Just to clarify.... I'll wager that most of the 725 Sporting (12 gauge, 30" barrels) owners in the U.S. use their shotguns at local skeet, trap, sporting clay rangers, NOT hunting. I'm pretty sure most of the hunters in Virginia are taking 12 ga auto-loaders into the field, for Whitetail, Turkey, and waterfowl. Around populated metropolitan centers high-powered rifles are not allowed, so hunters are required to use shotguns primarily. I shoot at the Bull Run Shooting Center near Manassas, VA and go for the "Wobble" or "5-Stand" range 90% of the time, and it's a hoot! I also own a Citori CXS (12 ga, 30") and rotate between them, or trade off with my young adult children.

Let me add a few comments: - the palm swell helps absorb some recoil, also it feels great in your hand most people like that - the barrel is ported, which helps control the gun rising up, to me it feels smooth as it lets off, the was slides effortlessly down the barrel. That smoothness means staying on target as you swing. - mechanical triggers vs the older inertia based based triggers on the 525 Citori. That is huge while I never had any failures with the Citori trigger systems my understanding is competitive shooters prefer the mechanical triggers - newest chokes Invector DS extend outside the barrel and pattern better. If you use a gun sleeve or for example a waterfowl floating gun case, it is less likely to have the end of the barrel rip the gun case materials. Some of you may have experienced that, I know I have, I think that’s the major good news here for the 725. I have shot the 525 extensively on clays and wild birds in the USA mostly quail and pheasants and while it’s almost too nice to take into the field if you worry about marking and dinging up the wood and metal, I would say just ignore that as it was made to be used and you can get excellent field experiences from the firearm. I think the 725 can make everyone a better shooter, help them break more clays and harvest more birds, and probably get that person to achieve their personal best performance.

725 trigger is not really mechanical, hybrid mechanical/inertia i would say. Europe versions of browning shotguns doesnt have any ported barrels.
