Good review! Got the green dial one from the same retailer. Great watch and exceptional service!

I also considered the green dial. Such a unique watch. A true 'Hulk'. It was a difficult choice but I ended up playimng it safe and going for the back dial. Take care buddy, Des

@@21stcenturycaveman33 The green dial is not as bright on the website. It is a muted green, and it looks good! Can’t go wrong with either dial choice because the watch overall is awesome!

Am I correct that the same watch in deferent markets has 200m not 300 WR? Anyone able to cast light on why?
@gregsmith78216 ай бұрын
A few models come to mind that look similar and carry a 200m water resistance. There are two are JDM only, known as the Promaster 'Land' (rather than 'tough'), PMD56-2952 and AT6080-53L. Both are day/date, with perpetual calender and Japan only, radio sync. I think the later came in a a blue and green vareint. These are available via Japanese dealers for as little as £250+tax n shipping. Another is the replacement for this watch (now discontinued), which, having come out earlier this year looks very similar; slightly plainer strap, 1mm wider, 2mm deeper, slight difference in hands and type face but easily mistaken as the same watch.

Hi, thanks for the review. I am in doubt of getting the bracelet version or the kevlar one. what do you suggest?
@21stcenturycaveman332 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Definitely get the bracelet version. Alternative straps can be purchased far cheaper once you've got the watch. Bracelets are always much more expensive when bought separately. Best wishes, Des

@@21stcenturycaveman33 thanks a lot for your reply. one more thing, is it scratch resistant? and is it comfortable to wear?
@21stcenturycaveman332 жыл бұрын
Yes - comfortable to wear. Some minor scratches where the bracelet rubs against a desk top though. ATB, Des

Yes absolutely. I wear this watch all the time now. Don;t even bother looking at the others. Lovely lightweight, practical watch which works for every occasion. Just check the strap size before buying. Thanks, Des

@@21stcenturycaveman33Are you sure about that 'every occasion' thing? 'Cos I Was at the Carlton club the other day and then toffy nosed bastardos were looking at me funny. Anyone know the lug width on this? Seems to be a common thing for this watch for people to skirt around? I am assuming this is because its something weird like 21mm?
@21stcenturycaveman33 Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Not sure why anyone would want 'to skirt' around the issue of lug width dimensions. It is what it is. Makes no odds to me whether people buy or not, I don't have shares in the company buddy. ATB, Des

Leake has a great reputation for service on this side if the Big Pond. G-Shocks, do, of course, come with solar-power.

Yes, it does have a battery. It's rechargeable, and it's called a capacitor. And yes you do have to replace them about every 20 years.
@DrBrito Жыл бұрын
For that task I'd imagine that only authorized dealers would be able to do it.

10 years and only citizen can service them as written on the back,ccst £125 battery, new glass seal plus service.£12.50 a year equivalent
@gregsmith78216 ай бұрын
@@minixtvboxYou would be in the minority if one of these only gave you ten years. Many of the originals from the '90's are still going sans service and the newer ones are expected to last longer, ie 30 years +. The key is to make sure they don't discharge entirely, by giving them regular light. Another tip is to avoid getting them too hot or cold, ie, wearing it on a regular basis. Estimations based on testing old models and factoring in modern chemistry, predict that you may only loose as little as 20% capacity, over a thirty year period! Although they only have a 5 (+1 for registering) warrantee in the UK, citizen are so confident in the longevity, they offer a ten year warranty in Japan, which includes cell replacement!

Eco drive does have a battery in order to store the energy that the solar produces.citizen state these batteries last ten years but many people have eco drive that's still going strong after 20 years. Last point, leaving these watches in the dark for prolonged periods of time will actually damage the batteries and shorten the life span.

You will find that it does have a battery and that battery will need to be changed just a lot less frequently than a normal one, which is good because it is a mono case construction and has to be done by Citizen, £££££
