I finally emailed CIVIVI about the stripped screw yesterday evening. I emailed as though I was just a regular guy (no reference to being a reviewer) and in less than 12 hours they replied that they are sending replacement screws to me via express shipping. From China, it will still take a couple of weeks. GREAT customer service from CIVIVI.

I have had this exact knife for about 3 months. Love it. I think the blade is one of the best looking I have seen, along with the Kizer Grazioso (except for it's recurve). Waiting on my Kubey Carve to arrive. In photos at least I think it is the best tanto style blade I have seen. Glad to hear about Civivi customer service. I also find the quality of mine to be excellent, and it has the best style pocket clip I think. I don't like the ones that run parallel to the scale until dropping down to the lip. I find them more uncomfortable in hard use.

I am a fan of the Garazioso myself. I don't mind a little recurve, if it had a more dramatic recurve I would need to use a set of narrow stones that make recurve blades easy to sharpen. I did a video on sharpening recuve blades way back in 2017 (video quality is not up to par with my new videos but mabe you can learn somthing)

Yeah, and you don't have to use the flipper to open it. Too bad you can only use it at home due to its super long blade.

Which one do u think is better the dogma or the elementum button lock
@CanadianCuttingEdge
@CanadianCuttingEdge 2 жыл бұрын
I don't have a button lock elementum so I am not certain. I do have a regualar elememtum and I happen to like the Dogma a bit more. But your question is which one is better - I don't think one is better than the other, they are very much the same quality.

I think it might become just that. CIVIVI was smart to make so many versions of it so people can get a different one than their friends have.

I like the Dogma, especially in two different scale colors. Good looker. No, it shouldn’t be twice as much money! Shoot, I’d never get one. :) I also like that Ganzo.

thanks for watching. I wish hollow grinds would be more common these days, but sadly sabre grinds rule the roost it seams. i like sabre grinds, but I would like to see more hollow and full flat grinds.

Jake....just an idea. Good on them for using flush fitting screws on the pocket clip. They got half the equation right but you still have to get over the lip of the clip. I know it’s just a bent piece of metal. What do you think would be more cost effective for a manufacturer?
@CanadianCuttingEdge
@CanadianCuttingEdge 3 жыл бұрын
I am not sure I understand your point. They made it economically and it works very well, I think they got the whole equation right, which makes me think maybe I don't understand your point. I think they got the pocket clip right in every way - for a budget clip that is. It has never caught on the lip of my pocket and I used it on several different pairs of pants. The pent over end of it is spot on in my estimation. It worked well with my heaviest jeans and it worked well with my casual khakis, all without a hitch.

Does the blade have a detent ramp? I've become ridiculously spoilt by the current quality of even budget knives to be concerned about inconsequential details like that, oh well.
@CanadianCuttingEdge
@CanadianCuttingEdge 3 жыл бұрын
No, there is no detent ramp. On a larger knife with a heavier blade the detent ramps make sense to me, but as you said it's inconsequential on this knife.

Its not a copy its an Homage. 😅
@CanadianCuttingEdge
@CanadianCuttingEdge 3 жыл бұрын
It's certainly not a replica, but the entire design concept has been lifted. Ganzo is still doing homage knives but I am glad Ganzo has started doing a lot of in house design and is searching for designers worldwide to contribute designs. That is the best way forward for them, in my view.
