I hope you like the video that will come on Sunday too, it should be appealing to some folks in Germany. In fact, I think WAY more guys in North America need to learn the joy of a good slip-joint knife.

Love the profile of the knife overall, and especially the blade. I like beefy knives, especially medium-sized knives of 9 to 10 inches overall....but I'm not a fan of overly-thick blades on small, short knives because I tend to find them easier handling for finer tasks with blades on the thinner side.

There are a fair number of guys who like their blades over thick. and I don't mind thick blades, if the edge isn't too chunky. Thick spines are not of concern to me, if all they changed was to make the bevel come down so that behind the edge grind it would be half a mm (20 thousandths of an inch) then I would have been quite happy with this knife.

Is there large areas of gray in regards to knives? When I go camping, I don’t even carry my EDC on me to avoid complications (I have it in my rut sack) if I was to interact with law enforcement.

When I go camping I happily put a 5" fixed blade on my belt and I don't care who sees it, never had a concern with law enforcement because I have a super legit reason to have a knife with me. When camping you need a knife, it's really that simple. Can you get on with out a knife on your person when camping? Yes, of course you can. I just find that when I have a knife I find loads of uses for it.

So basically a sharpened pry bar, but like you said, a viable backup outdoor blade. Could be a decent project. Maybe a regrind.. but that coating might make it a wash. I'm curious about trying to strip a ti ni coating. I've heard it's not too easy

yeah, that is another way to say it. I am not one of those guys who takes coatings off, I have never tired, so I don't know. I do know that it shows wear quite easily.

Agreed. Pretty sure there are other budget fixed blades out there that would work better right out of the box. You could even look at…. Schrade . And until a couple years ago, I would say Condor, but they’ve raised the MAP so much they have very few in the budget range now. Regardless, lots of better options out there.

Knives like this I just don't get; they're almost like a practical joke. It would hilarious to give to someone who's got a collection of huge survival, chopper knives as a gag gift. All joking aside, I'm sure knives like this fulfil a unique niche for some folks...

I thought about it afterward, this knife would possibly be great if I changed it to a scandi grind, maybe a 12­° grind on either side. Maybe I will give it a shot.
