A knife review with a twist....
Here we take a look at one of my favorite knives for use in the woods, the Bushlore, from Condor Tool & Knife. I talk about some of the things I really like, along with some of the things I don't like so much. And in the end attempt to remedy some of the defects...
Overall this is a great knife designed by Joe Flowers out of El Salvador. Worth the price!

You did WHAT to your Bushlore? Okay, just kidding. I wouldn’t do that, but you really did a fine job on your mod. I think I agree on all your points except about the the 1075. You’re absolutely correct about it needing more frequent sharpening. But,it’s also a bit tougher. Which, due to my approach to knife work, is a good thing. I beat the devil out of mine (hat tip, Bob Ross). I do less of the scissoring/levering style of cutting. More of the typical push-the-knife or, when caution is required, pushing the work piece against the blade. Absent that scissoring motion, the bit on the end doesn’t affect me. Also, I have chubby fingers. Less stub to worry over. Again, nice job on the mod. I worry about it’s theological implications…I shall pray for your soul….😜

Making the knife fit your needs cool. I still hope Joe doesn’t change it. LOL! 😂

Nice job man👍🏻 it looks good and it appears to suit you better than before. I love modifications to my knives. It kinda personalizes them

Really nice Condor "Swamp Romper" mod. That handle was definitely big. If I ever got one I would reserve it for big chopping and chomping. Maybe get the Condor Trivitatta Puukko for finer carving. Then maybe a flat grind Gerber for camp kitchen duty. What's wrong with 3-knives?

Interesting idea and a well executed job. It looks a lot different than i thought it would. I never use the the chest lever grip so won’t do it to mine, but i’m a firm believer in modifying any knife to suit your particular needs.

Love what you did with the handle. Make it to suit your needs, well done! Looks like a handle shape I would favour any day if the week, too. Long handles with nubs at the end are great on heavy blades for chopping, but not so much on bushcrafty blades. I would have taken it off too :)

I like the mod. I have always found the Condor design to be clunky and unrefined. Don't have any more Condors (don't like the softness of their heat treat) or I would consider doing something similar.

You made it the same as the Bison knife! That's an improvement and not just a personal taste. These knives are designed for working wood and the mode you did, just made it a better tool! Thumbs up!!

I've used the chest lever grip and never had your problem. By cutting off the butt like that you reduce your ability to use a power cut without the knife possibly slipping in a normal grip.

interesting mod - but lets face it, even if you didn't like it - it's $40 to replace :)

I can’t believe you did that to a great design. Instead of learning to use the knife differently. Amazing nobody else was complaining about bruises.

He's not....not that he won't see it....but either won't care or is unable to do anything about it. Seems to be my experience with Condor for the past decade or so.
