According to Halfords support 2T version is 34kg gross vs 38.5kg for the 3T version. There is an aluminium 2T version that Halfords do which is 19kg with handles to make it easier to manoeuvre but it's a bit more expensive and slightly down and min and max saddle heights. 83-470mm vs 75-505 for the jacks in this video.

I immediately returned the 3T jack and bought the 2T aluminum - what a relief. If you want to break your back lifting these metal jacks - I wish you good luck with back surgery ahead of time.

Whilst it would have been great to see it in actual operation on the car....if nothing else it provides the “lift” that so many of us need right now.

I've just had a look on them and nothing indicates the origin. It was probably on the box. But they're now 3.5 years old and doing well. The manual is online (see washford.a.bigcontent.io/v1/static/563118%20-%20Adv%203T%20Low%20Profile%20Trolley%20Jack%20Manual_Release) but doesn't state it either, with the only references to a law firm in Dublin.

Thanks for the video, just a quick question, is there any difference in weight between the 2T and 3T versions? Tempted to simply go for the 3T if it's not significantly heavier, and assume it isn't as you say they look the same but Halfords don't say anywhere. Thanks

It is heavier, but I have no way of measuring them. It feels about 4-5kg heavier.

I had an issue with two of them scraping the ram. Didn't notice in use but was worried the seals would go early so returned

I'm curious about using these. Where do you know the location of the best place for the jack point for a car? I've a Zoe and can't find any mention of jack points in the docs.

EVs are no different to any other cars. Much is said about not jacking them, but that is only to stop idiots jacking on the underside of the battery pack. All EVs do have jacking points on the sills, which are normally identified by a marking or cut out. BMW i3s have plastic sockets. Or you can jack up on suspension mounts if lifting just one corner.

Yes easily. The transporter is 1725-2065kg kerb weight (which includes 75kg for the driver). If you're lifting a corner at a time, the jack wants to be rated to at least three quarters of the vehicle weight.

hi, So I want to lift the entire front of my Mercedes E220 (around 2ton) then I’d need the 3 ton jack right?

@@aronsgarage834no if your car is approximately 2ton then you’d need at least 1.5ton of lifting power as the rest of the weigh would pivot onto the back wheels

Undoing that Nut is NOT a quick release of the handle. Bad design. It shold have simple push buttons halfway down the handle where those bolts are so that part of the handle can be removed.

Wow, these have gone up! They were very cheap before though. The 2t was £130 and is now (as of Jan 2022) £166 and the 3t was £160 and is now £227.
