My Brass Monkey Fridge stopped working after 12 months I took it back to a different store, no questions asked, they swapped it out for a new upgraded model and threw in a fridge cover for free. I could not fault the way they handled their warranty claims. A three (3) year warranty was one of the reasons I bought it.

One note you need to do power consumption test video to see how much its using at 24 hours so people can see if this fridge its for them or not or how many ah battery they will need. And will apritiate if you tell me if the cover helping on keeping fridge cooler or not and your thought by how much if its just little than no worrty as those covers are $125+ here in New Zealand. Hey mate. Thanks for the info and also the suggestions. I’d love to setup and measure power consumption in the future. I have a 100amp lithium and a 160w solar and the battery stays charged. But when we have a couple of rainy day then it’s quick to drain the battery especially in our Queensland summer and the being inside a loot canopy doesn’t help. I’m not sure how it compares to other fridges as I’ve only had this one and a very old Engel which was terrible. But I will definitely try and do a power consumption test in the future.

Good video mate. I have the 60L version of this fridge. How do you find the low voltage protection? Does it work ok? Does the fridge shut off totally, or does it leave a message on the screen? I am gonna do a test this weekend (In Perth) to see how long I can run it hooked up to my car battery only, using only the fridge. I have a Nissan Navara D22, which has dual batteries (for starting) so I am hoping I can get an overnighter out of it (maybe 4pm til 10am the following morning) so we can do overnight bush camping at the weekend. Am gonna do as you suggested and load it all up cold on the mains power, then switch over to battery power when I am ready to start the test. Anyway - cheers for the vid - will be sure to check a few more of yours out. Regards
@AdventuringPals2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate. Thanks for the comment. I have found with mine it leaves a message on the screen and does still drain the battery. Might just be the settings I have it in or maybe even my built in battery protection but I have had my battery ( 100 amp hour lithium) turn off on me in the past. I’ve found weather impacts how long it lasts greatly and having good flow around the vents also effect how long it runs. In cold climates I can get a few days on a charged battery. But in the hot humid area only overnight. Good luck with the test. I’d suggest making sure you have a means of jump staring the vehicle in case of a flat battery if you haven’t already though of it. Please do let me know how it goes. Thanks again.
@DjClarky782 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. When you say it still drains the battery, do you mean the fridge continues to run, or the fridge shuts off but the display keeps drawing power? Will definitely let you know how the test goes. Not that hot here at the moment, so it won't prove how it will work on really hot days, but we'll see.
@DjClarky782 жыл бұрын
@@AdventuringPals I did the trial. Took the divider out and just ran it as a fridge. I put 24 bottles of beer in it Plugged it into mains power and Set it at 2 degrees. Once everything was cold, I switched over to the car battery and started the trial. I kept it in the shade and only opened it once the whole time (to get out some beer). It was 30° in the afternoon, cooler overnight. I ran it straight for 20 hours, no problems from 3:30pm til 11:30am the next day (Nov in Perth). It ran all that time no problems. No low battery issues. When I unplugged, the car started first time. I switched it off and started it twice more with no problems. Car is a Nissan Navara D22, with two 76Ah batteries as standard. I think this will easy handle some single overnight camp trips, which I do sometimes with my family at the weekend. Be interested to see how it handles the warmer weather. Hey bro , how do you find you fridge up in northern QL and NT ? my fridge is now 5 months old, been fine up the east coast until now in central Queensland. Seems the be running non stop. Can get to max -5 for the freezer, and 2 for the fridge. The compressor just runs non stop draining battery fast. Any ideas !? It’s hot up here but nothing we didn’t see down in nsw. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks mate

Hi mate. We didn’t have issues in the top end with it. It did run a lot and used more power but it wasn’t an issue as we were driving every day and had a solar panel to keep it charging. I don’t really have any tips to give you. Maybe just make sure there is plenty of air gap around the vents.
