It depends on the make and model. Some manufacturers allow that to be done using a scan tool and others don't.

So if you are talking about the 28 reset functions, they are to reset different items such as oil reset, crank position relearn, window relearn, throttle body relearn and items such as those. It will clear fault codes also if you need to do that.

Click the expand button then the multi-system software expand button and you will see at the bottom T-Code exchange and it will let you enter the number.

I am not familiar with FAP but if you are talking about a DPF regen then it should be able to once you purchase that special function.

Would you be kind enough to briefly explain what the SMOG part is and what the green and gray indicators are used for? I'm not familiar with this field, so I'm not quite sure. I bought the device solely for the purpose of resetting the automatic transmission memory. My vehicle is from 2012 (EU vehicle) and there are only two green indicators. Does that mean that the use of this device is limited to only those two areas or is there something else? I purchased the option with all the functions for one vehicle brand (Opel). Could you please provide some additional context or details about the SMOG part and the green and gray indicators? This will help me understand the specific device and its functionalities better.

No, The wifi is simply for updates. It will connect to the car and do everything it is capable of with no wifi connection.

*First, with what you demoed here, is that the unit "out of box" with no add-ins $$$ ?? I did call their support line to try to find out about Resets and if, out of box, it can do some resets. The guy didn't seem to be sure. So then I asked if I buy the $60 "single vehicle, full feature" option, would THAT include the reset options. Or would have I to ALSO buy the $80 28 resets package. Which would make this a deal breaker as the unit at a good price, would then fly into the higher end units. By any chance are you familiar with and perhaps have used the FOXWELL NT301 Plus unit? I have that in my Amazon cart right now, but then I came across this CDE900 Pro for about the same price (ish). If you know both of these devices, would you say that, *out of the box,* the MUCAR CDE900 Pro would do what the NT301 Pro does? (before buying the 3 possible upgrade options)? Out of the box, does the CDE900 Pro do some resets, for example? *For clarity, I saw you go into the reset options screen. Where all those on the "out of box" or did you buy/add the update for the massive resets option?* I would like to make a decision ASAP as to which one to go with as the warranty on our Honda CRV AWD ends this month. LOL Ideas? *Sorry to add to this, but this will help decision making. I noticed that when you were in the screens to buy upgrades, the 28 resets for $79.00 had TPMS listed. Does that mean that out of box can NOT reset TPMS at all?* I just saw that the MUCAR C2S version does reset TPMS and other things. Hmmmm sigh... what to do!

If you buy the car-specific package it includes the reset functions for life. In your case, if all you care about is your own car then you can buy the single manufacture option and it includes the reset options.

@@737mechanic I completely forgot about this comment thread. So here's an update. I did buy the scanner and bought the specific car package for our Honda. ON THEIR WEBSITE, it does say that the 28 resets are included. HOWEVER, that's false and I complained to them about it. Once the T-Code is installed, everything appears to be there, except the reset option. Honestly, their "support" seems very sketchy. When I talked to the guy, who seemed very nice, he was clearly referring to his scripts only. I told him about this false advertising and he just kept saying that, NO, the resets are not included. He tried to get me to go to a specific spot on the website, which in fact does NOT show the resets! I then gave him the link to the package that I purchased where is clearly shows the resets. He did see it, but kept insisting that they are not included. He even went to "talk to someone" about it. Even after all these months, it's still listed on their site as including the resets. So for those buying this unit, I'd be careful. Their packages appear to not be what they offer. And the guy did nothing about it! I think that all he did was to offer to refund the money and he'd remove the package from my scanner! That's not acceptable. The right thing to do would have been to offer me the T-Code to unlock the 28 resets. I paid for it, they should supply it! Sadly, as they are not located in the USA or N. America, there's no way to complain about it and get the Gov to deal with it.

@@737mechanic i have heard from multiple people that those cheaper overseas obd unit and bidirectional units tend to corrupt something in the pcm or ecu's causing the vehicle to need a new one. Something in their operating system makes it happen. kind of like when you unplug a usb flash drive from a computer without using the "eject device command"

@@Jeg_er_tyk_og_grim Actually you can unplug a USB flash drive without clicking the eject button you just have to make sure it is not reading or being written to at the time. As far as causing it to corrupt a computer, you run that risk with any bi-directional scan tool but the only way that will happen is if the scan tool can write to the module which this scan tool can't do. It can trigger certain tests and abilities of a computer with that feature. For instance, if the manufacturer built into their module for a scan tool to be able to activate the ABS pump then it should be able to activate the pump but worst-case scenario if it got it in some latched state for instance all you would have to do is disconnect the battery and reconnect because this scan tool can not modify the software that is written in the ROM. Most people that claim that are talking out the side of their face because they don't want to accept there is a Chinese scan tool that does as much or more than their overpriced scan tool for a 1/4 of what they paid.

I need help. I have a 2012 Opel Astra 2.0 CDTI with an automatic transmission. Can I use this device to clear the transmission memory, meaning to reset what the car has learned, and start the process from scratch? When the transmission adapts, it doesn't work properly, but when the memory is cleared, it works perfectly for about 1500 km. Which additional options package would be suitable for this? If I purchase the package with all vehicles and options, will it include that, and is the process of clearing the memory and learned settings complicated?
