Bought it from your link 2 years ago for $8, never left my keychain since then! Thank you for that ;) I'm thinking of buying the 7072LUC-SCX now, great looking handle, all metal, but i'm not sure about the blade curvature when it comes to sharpening it.

I ordered this knife and awaiting its arrival, I fell in love with it straight away, I love stainless steel knives, I like the Spyderco designs but not the price. Found it on Ali express the main Sanrenmu store didn't have it but by searching for the model number I found it. I was looking for a good cheap knife to carry, I can carry this legally in UK but I still face high prospect of a police officer stealing it if they search me. I say that because police previously removed my legal knife collection from my home, a court told them to give me then back but police declared they had been destroyed, I put in a compensation claim which was rejected. So good quality cheap carry knives my best option.

The worst thing about Spyderco is that their budget tiny knives that are this size have garbage steel, at lest this one is a decent budget steel. Damn, the way police work is just so repulsive. They should not be allowed to destroy anything until after all your chance of doing an appeal to the courts is past. Canada is no better in this regard.

I bought this knife after watching this review. I really like it and use it all the time. I also bought the Spyderco grasshopper but returned it because the Sanrenmu was better in every way apart from the steel (recent grasshoppers are 12c27). The biggest improvements over the grasshopper are fit and finish and ergonomics. The price has risen significantly since your review - I bought this knife a few months ago for about £14, but it's still worth it to my mind and is still much better value than the grasshopper that cost me £22!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have noticed that the cost of most of the Sanrenmu knives have pretty much doubled in the last 3 years. Even so they are still worth the cost. Like you say, they are showing up the Spyderco brand big time. One odd thing to note, the Sanrenmu factory in China is THE company that makes all of the Spyderco "Made in China" knives. Imagine how bad they would be if one of the bad Chinese companies made their stuff for them.

I bought this knife in 2013 when it was known as the Sanrenmu H03. It still serves well and is often in my pocket at parties where a bottle might need to be opened.

I am glad that they have decided to keep making it. I never saw it when it was the H03.

I never tune off for slipjoints. They are the best thing about your channel. Most North American reviewers ignore them.

There are so many people who live in places where a slip joint is the only thing they can carry. AND, I love pretty much ALL knives. It's a pure waste, people are missing a lot of good knives when they reject slip joint knives just because they don't have a lock

Jake, why would anyone hate slip-joint knives ? I own over 100 knives (I'm in my 70's so not too unusual) and 80% of them are slip-joints of various quality, yet all of them perform great when used appropriately. Many of them I consider works of art. Granted if I started whacking them with a log or rock they may break but I have a few fixed-blades for that purpose. I have carried a slip-joint knife of some sort since I was a Boy Scout so that is almost 60 years and in that time I have never needed anything BIGGER FASTER STRONGER for an EDC, special or professional purposes aside. Please consider doing more slip-joint knife reviews including the ol" Grandpa knives of the past century. People with interest in those knives are very much alive and well, kicking and spending! It would be great to see some reviews of the made in Canada Grohmann series of knives, fixed and especially the folders. You do great work sir. Thanks for your hard work in putting these reviews together, I try to watch them all.

Yup, what The Common Man said. That and there are some people who just listen to what some popular reviewer says and if he doesn't like something then it's gospel truth for them. Too many people don't THINK for themselves.

That doesn't sound good. Maybe yours didn't get a proper heat-treatment because mine takes an edge quite well and keeps it as expected too.

slipjoints are counted as locking anywhere. anybody who calls a slip joint knife a locking knife doesn't know the definition of the word lock. Thankfully this knife is the closest thing to a locking knife that a slip-joint can be. I hope you don't scare anywone in France DBZAME!

Nice review. I've never been a fan of the Spyderco design, but if I were I'd definitely buy this Sanrenmu over the actual Spyderco due to price. I have a couple different Sanrenmu's and like the quality.

Sanrenmu makes the best small knives for the price. plain and simple. They also make a few GREAT mid-sized knives too and those are at a great price too. I can't help but love the brand!!
