Review of The Velvet Underground’s selftitled (Lou Reed ‘Closet Mix’) - 1001 Albums

In this new series of videos I will be discussing the albums included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die and ask the question; is it indeed an album you must hear?
In 1969 The Velvet Underground made their third album, without John Cale. It is often seen as a different direction for the band. It did not became a big hit, should it be listed in the book?
Also; I get into detail about the so called ‘closet mix’ Lou Reed made for this album.
