No one says you have to listen to the entire set in 1 sitting. If you're only going to play your favorites then why buy it. I'll be listening to each disc start to finish over a period of time. I did the same with the Budokan and Rolling Thunder releases. Savor each one, it's not homework. I agree Bob must have felt a bit intimidated at playing stadiums after an 8 year absence from touring. He sounds like he has a train to catch as soon as the concert is over. I like that he's concerned enough to put so much effort into his performances. I've seen him live twice, the 1st time he had on a cap and a hood pulled over it, it was hard to recognize what song he was singing. The 2nd time a few years later he was excellent, his guitar work was impressive too.

I have listened the MFSL compact disc in a friend's of mine home! He is a collector and big fan of Michael Jackson. MFSL compact disc sounds awesome. The MoFi Vinyl is ok comparing to other re-releases from 70s and 80s artists, but better is the MFSL compact disc. All new remastered compact discs and vinyl re-releases from oldies, have extreme loudness and distortion, lack of dynamics, so bassy sound like have cut much high end, comparing the first pressings of cds and vinyls!

Congrats on a well thought out review. TFC is clearly a Waters solo and clearly a first attempt. Pro's & Con's and Amused are much better albums. TFC in my opinion isn't a top 10 Floyd record. But there is something very special about this album. Water's has always worn his heart on his sleeve and it shines on TFC, specifically with his lyrics. The music is lacking, compared to any other Pink Floyd album. But for whatever reason, it works. I've listened to TFC more times than any other Floyd record and always first track to last track. It's the only Floyd album that I have on Cassette, CD, Vinyl and ITunes. But I can't explain why, other than it makes an emotional connection to me and many others.

Agree with the earlier post, AC/DC Back in Black. I found a nm Columbia record club pressing side 1 is a typical record club pressing, super clean, clear, dynamic. Side 2 is stamped RL, when the first bell gongs for Hells Bells hits, OMG, no doubt it’s a RL press, religious experience!

I totally agree regarding with the first pressing of "Like A Prayer". The CD sounds spectacular too, but the vinyl is brilliant. Ditto the same comments for Brother's In Arms, although the first pressing is so edited down from the CD & cassette versions, including the long intro to Money For Nothing & Your Latest Trick.

What a really nice surprise to see the appreciation for Waylon Live! IMO is the best live album of all time. The Expanded Edition is completely unreal, I get goosebumps in so many songs, especially the ending jams of songs like This Time, Freedom to Stay, T for Texas and Never Been to Spain.

Regarding Led Zep II and The Band S/T: both albums had a bit of controversy regarding Bob's mastering. As vinyl was the primary source for music in the very late 60's and very early 70's, both of those albums were a bit too dynamic for the many cheap record players that were in people's homes. These pressings made the stylus pop out of the grooves for being a bit too dynamic. Led Zep II was given to Bob Ludwig for a second mastering (so he did that album twice). Both mastering's are superb. Capitol records had the album remastered by a different engineer but continued to use the Ludwig masters for quite a while. Both records are easily trackable on modern turntables.

Awesome, eclectic list - really like the mix. Honestly not many VC hosts would have Lee Morgan, Killing Joke and Jonathan Richman in the same list! But dude your Jonathan Richman imitation needs real work. 😊 “Forest Flower” from Charles Lloyd was indeed performed at the famous Monterrey Pop Festival I would suggest “Dig the New Breed” from the Jam as a European entrant …. oops, the Jam isn’t European as they are a UK band. Sorry I am an idiot American. We might even consider Canadian artists European. Just kidding, we consider them American. Sorry I can’t agree with the Miles Davis “Live Evil” - I would have picked any 2nd great quintet set. But this isn’t my channel - it is yours. Love your channel.

@@top5records796 Hello, if i remember right, The Hermann Brood Concert was in June 1979 at "Rotation" in Hannover. Rotation was a former hall of the "Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung", where the printing presses were located. When the printing works were relocated, the Rotation became a very popular music club. Today the "Rotation" did not exist anymore.

I think old Bob is a genius. I've been listening to his music since 1964. So, for me it's the first album up through John Wesely Harding, with Blood on the Tracks and Desire later. And that's about it. Obviously, he's made many other fine records, but none of them reaches the heights of his earlier stuff, especially his 1960's recordings. Each release breaks new ground. Not just new ground for him, but for the entire music industry and the way we listen to and consider music. As for this box, as to paraphrase Mr. Dlyan, I'm gonna let it pass. All that I've typed is of course my considered opinion, nothing more.
