Is it worth it? What can you say about accuracy ? knock off models fail to accurately read (+-5 degree or more) at the freezing point or above boiling point of water.

This is definitely not a scientific instrument. It's in the price range of being a somewhat accurate tool. I found it to be within several degrees in my testing. Is it worth it? I think it is worth the cost for the person who needs a device like this but they cannot afford the precision models or they don't need pinpoint accuracy.

@@CanadianCuttingEdge Thank you for reply. I'm in the same boat as you are, looking to buy an affordable, fairly accurate measurement tool to double check the temperature of my reflow soldering heat gun. Several degrees accuracy seems to be good for me in this price range.

Yes you can but it is not super accurate for that use. Even the no contact ones they use at airports and such are not very accurate

It is NOT certified to take food temperature readings. BUT, I would totally trust it for home use, just not recommended for a restaurant etc because it's not certified by any health or food safety organization that I know of.

yes it can check body temperature quite well. BUT it is not certified to do that job
