Review on HPI Baja Vs Rovan / Kingmotor Clone

I've owned both. HPI is definitely better quality and a bit more reliable but Rovan has come a long way from what they were. Most people end up breaking and/or upgrading parts anyway so Rovan is the way to go in my personal opinion.

Really like this truck can't go wrong with the price and the upgrades parts I'm thinking of buying one the hpi is really good but starting from the bottom and work my way up 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪

I plan on buying one if this in the next couple of days. I like to do some relaxed bashing. This is perfect. The £500 saved will be going on hop ups and modifications :)

Love my rovan Baja. It's an absolute beast and never let's me down . Only things that have broken have been through my own stupidity haha

I like the looks and quality of the HPI, more. HPI looks more like the real deal, and less like a toy (Rovan/Kingmotor). That's just me though. They're all pretty damn cool.

Looking at a nice modified HPI 5b SS second hand great shape & modified for $900. These Rovans seem to be $600-800. Do you think a nice HPI would be worth the extra couple hundred?

I bought a new hpi baja 5b a few years ago for 1200 euros and I spent another 2000 on various modifications and a new engine 🤣 if I had to do it again I would buy rovan

I put 1 inch extenders because my rear rims were rubbing on the arms bad now they dont

ive got a rovan baja it has been on a shelf for 4 months and this weekend i decided to put loads of hop ups on it.. everything is installed was looking forward to taking it out but it just wont start anymore ive only run about 4 tanks through it..it would fire up with 1 pull before i shelved it..not sure what to do if im honest.

Mine to it was the kill switch dirt got in mine runs fine again with new one

My hpi baja 5b started up on the third pull after 2 years of being in the garage , you got to prime it first then pull it 3 times with the choke on then turn the choke off ..

Really good, unbiased vid Chris, I'm seriously thinking of getting one of these, if I was to spend £1000 - £1500 I would be divorced by my wife and also so scared to use it, as you say, sit it on a shelf and maybe, just maybe, give it a run out once a year!!
