It's still mostly there a few years later, just the odd piece needed a tiny spot of glue where it had come away from wear and team but essentially it's unoticable

So happy to see that someone else with PerfectFit blackout blinds had same light leak issues, and excellent DIY fixes. I’m still struggling with the “perfect fit” and “blackout” labels when these blinds do not live up to those properties! Thanks for the ideas 😄

My pleasure, hope you tried some fixes, it has stood up well after 5 months and blocks direct summer sun nicely too.

Thanks for this video and a solution to the light leak, brought some of these today for my daughtersnorth facing bedroom windows, bit gutted they don't totally block out light, but with the sticky felt addition it'll be plenty good enough for those late summer evenings when she's in bed.

Thank you for taking the time to make such an informative video. I did not think the light leaking would still break through the frame and fabric; not a suitable solution for my daughters room.

thanks for the vid, you saved me some money as I was just about to buy some blinds. On the sides of the frame that are leaking light you could use a decorators caulk and run a thin bead of caulking along the fitting and the window then using a damp finger to smooth it off. That will definitely help with the sides. The corners I guess could be painted? even if you painted them qhite on the insides they wouldnt let the light in and wouldnt look out of place than if you painted them black.

Glad to help and yes, I'd definitely consider caulk if it was sure to be a permanent fixture. Just could be a bit of pain to remove from UPVC frames without scratching it up if you or a future owner changed thier mind, although 5 months later I can confirm it's still standing well and blocking direct summer sun well too so maybe permanent isn't a bad choice actually.

Great video, just about to complain about light coming through the sides. Of frame thought it butted but. I'll try your way. Even though 1 blind keeps falling down from top. .

Hi, these are widely available in the UK under the Perfect Fit brand name and easily googled.
