Someone else may have mentioned this already, but the reason why Philips does not have Bluetooth / Phone connectivity is because phone/computer screens emit blue light which interferes with sleep. So they designed it to keep you from bringing your phone into the bedroom or viewing it before going to bed. I too would have liked being able to set up the alarms via phone but I get it.

I can understand this angle. Still, I think most phones have "night tint" and stuff for the screen nowadays, so it negates the blue light effect. (I could be wrong though, I haven't looked at all new phones in aaages lol.) Of course there's still all the other crappy aspects of phones and their effects on sleep. Probably don't want the phone near you to begin with if you're going to bed.

6:44 Lead with that... it's a crucial point in my opinion... I mean Philips came up with "Hue" and lead home automated lights, They can easily make Home Kit compatible devices... yet we still cant buy a wake up device that has bluetooth on it.

Mind Space is cool, also apps like "Sleep Cycle" which track your sleep then detect the perfect time for you to wake up would be a killer combination! It's like it was made for it!!!!

That may change soon. I found this unfinished product page for what seems like a new gen model that is smartphone enabled. I'm still buying this one, but if the new model releases in a few months then I will use my 90 day money back return and go for the new one. www.usa.philips.com/c-p/HF3671_60/somneo-sleep-and-wake-up-light/specifications

Nice, I went with Phillips hue which is compatible with "Sleep Cycle" which made perfect sence and these kinds of lights look like a toy... because for the same price I have 3 bulbs in the room which wake me up based upon reading my actual sleep cycle, not just at a set time. it's like comparing a headphones to a 5.1 surround soud system. Anyways, my recommendation is getting hue color, and using your phone as the control.

good find!

I would say its a conscious decision not to emphasize peaople to use the light with a smartphone because to sleep well you shouldnt even bring a smartphone to your bedroom. So i think its a good decision not to add bluetooth pairing

Seeing one of your videos for the first time, nice info, but please first thing: get a decent videocamera today without auto-focus or at least without that horrible sound!

Thanks for watching :) I'm ordering myself an external mic and have fixed the autofocus issues, sorry for the sound quality
