Well, to help you so you dont struggle next time, mix the ingredients before getting the canister out of the freezer, so that when you get the canister out all you need to do is pour in the mixture. Also, if you don't want to struggle while putting the motor aligned with the bucket and paddle, all you need to do is first aligned the canister with the whole in the bottom, then setting the motor in top of the canister, and finally adding the ice and the rock salt. And so, will make your struggles go away. Also, you must add ice and salt every 10 to 15 minutes so the consistency of the ice cream is natural, and then you put in the freezer.

About adding the extra ice and salt, that's just what I was wondering about. I only knew how, when my family used to make peach ice cream (with a hand - crank OR an electric freezer) we needed to add more ice and salt that often. THAAAT was some delicious ice cream, now!

I agree 💯% ........it is worth the money. I absolutely love mine. I tell everyone I know about it. Hands down best looking & functional ice cream maker ever made. The colors are beautiful. That red is such a cheery color. I could make a commercial about it all by myself. I love the little ice cream bowls you used ........where did you purchase those? They went great with the presentation. Hope they sale them in my area. Great job!!!!!!!

You actually didn't do too bad for your first time. I am not familiar with this particular brand but most of these 'old-fashioned' wooden bucket type of ice cream makers are pretty much the same. If you like ice cream its definitely worth getting getting one---especially when you think about the price of store bought ice cream these days. I love ice cream, but I have to be careful with the sugar and fat. I also don't care for many of the artificial ingredients that they are putting in the commercial brands now. I have an old Sunbeam bucket machine and I use it to make ice cream all the time. The good thing about these machines is that you can play around with the recipes as much as you want. Over the years I have come up with lots of tasty recipes that even a diabetic can eat. If you use farm fresh milk and cream with your machine you can make ice cream that tastes 100 times better than anything you can buy in a store.

I bought one and had to take the first one back and exchange it for a different one because the top was broke. I got the new one and I have had nothing but trouble with it. It has ruined 2 batches of ice cream and heavy whipping cream is not cheap. In my opinion it is NOT worth it. Once the ice starts melting it lifts the canister up and then the salt gets under it and the motor stops working.

You need to stay with it while its mixing. That way you can re add the salt and more ice. If your was lifting up, there was not enough ice. I havent used mine yet, thats just my i interpreetation of the directions.

THANK YOU TY !!! I was wondering if this particular maker was actually worth getting. And, you, my dear, have convinced me it IS !!! I'll prob be getting it within the week as a Christmas present to myself. But, have you ever made your own vanilla to use in your cooking ? It's sooo easy to make and it does taste better than the pure extract you buy. As you mentioned to not do in your video, I don't like using artificial vanilla in my cooking/baking. To make your own vanilla ... the more beans you add, the stronger the flavor. But, you mix a good quality bottle of vodka and real vanilla beans. I put at least four nice - size beans in a gallon of vodka. (LOL!!! I made my vanilla AFTER I had a mixed drink with some of the vodka to be able to shake it up bunches in the bottle !!! LOL !!!) Don't forget to carefully cut open and scrape your beans into the vodka, and, let it set up for at least three to four weeks before using it cause, the longer you "cure" it, the better it tastes. I, myself, can notice a difference in the freshness of the flavor of homemade vs store - bought PURE vanilla extract. Also, if you want to, you can add more vodka to keep your extract bottle full - just remember to add a bean after about every half - gallon used. It's better if you also allow that to "cure" about a week before you use it again. But, it's not all that necessary at this point. I know that sounds like a LOT of vanilla to use, but, I've had my extract for at least ten years, and, it's only gotten better with time. Sometimes, not too often though, I will replace the beans with fresh ones. But, you want to leave them in there to help make your extract more flavorful. (My favorite recipe to make with it is creme brulee. ) I've only used about a half - gallon, so, it's time for me to add another bean and more Vodka to mine, now ! It IS quite YUMMY, though !!! TY again for sharing.

Like buying garbage in a box. First one motor housing was cracked and smashed in the box. No damage to cardboard on outside so it had to be packed in with broken plastic and busted off motor housing screws. Returned it got another one, opened box at store looked ok. Got home and the top of the paddle where it is inserted in drive looked broken/chewed off. Useless

The problem with getting the motor on was created by putting the ice in before you put the motor on! If you put the motor on first, then put the ice in after, the process goes a lot easier! I know because I made the same mistake with my ice cream maker!! HAHA!!!
