For one not considering himself a firearm channel, you’re certainly well versed and concise. More so than many popular guntuber channels. Nice review

I come here primarily for your pipe videos but I always find your other videos interesting as well. I've always found rifles to be interesting and you explain the workings and parts in a way that the un-indoctrined can still follow along and share in your enthusiasm for it.

I see your gun vids have been doing pretty well. Most people have not gotten as far as yours as quick as you, at least regarding getting free stuff from major supply chains. Good job!

I still got gas in the face with the PRI. What solved my gas issue the best was using RTV where the charging handle meets the receiver. I prefer a more compact CH with a larger latch. Like KAC or LMT milspec handles with larger latch. I use red RTV so I know it’s there and it looks cool. Black is fine also. To add RTV to the charging handle. Clean the charging handle of all grease and oil so the RTV sticks to the charging handle. Use wax on the back of the receiver where the CH meets the receiver so the RTV doesn’t stick to it. A wax candle rubbed on it to leave a waxy film worked for me every time. Add the RTV to the top of the charging handle and slide it into place. Use only what you need. It gets messy if you use too much. Look at the gap to judge how much you need. When you latch the CH you will notice it has some back and forth wiggle so keep it pulled away from the receiver as far as you can without unlatching it. Use a tooth pick or plastic knife to smooth the RTV with the top of the charging handle and receiver. Gently let it go so it stays where you pulled away from the receiver. Pulling it away and letting it sit produces a better seal when it’s dry. Let it dry 24 hours. Now gently pull the CH free. You can use a toothpick to help it release from the receiver. The wax will not let the RTV bond to the receiver the way it bonds to the CH. That’s it. All done. You can use a razor knife to clean up extra RTV if you need to but I never bother. Now the gas can’t blow into your face. Worked better than all the gas busting CH I tried.

Wondering how much wear that steel latch causes moving back and forth across an aluminum receiver? I'm sure over time that steel latch will wear down that small notch on the upper receiver.

I had a PRI gasbuster CH at one point. I liked it, but I prefer the BCM Gunfighter because the latch is ribbed and makes for easier manipulation while gloved or when there's a malfunction without being as large as the military latch or combat latch (I prefer the med sized BCM). I think the gasbuster does a slightly better job of deflecting gases (particularly when running suppressed) than the BCM GF. What are you running for lube and using for cleaning fluid? If you haven't tried Slip2000 products, I'd suggest the 725 gun cleaner and Extreme Weapons Lube (we'd had great luck with the ewl30) you should take a look at their product line. We ran a suppressed rifle in excess of 15k rounds without cleaning (all we did was add some lube between range sessions).. The two products work together and make cleaning a. Much easier task. The live works really well too. Great video!
@stuffandthingsyoutube8 жыл бұрын
+Nate K - Thanks for watching, man! I'm still experiementing with lube. I still really like Balistol for non-deep cleaning, and I've used several different greases including Slip2000. Seemed like a good product.
@NateK91328 жыл бұрын
+Stuff&Things Slip's EWG (which is what I'm assuming you're talking about when you say you've tried their grease) is really good for things like the slides and frames on 1911 or Sig pistols, but it's not the greatest for the MSR platform... You need something that will stay put, but has enough viscosity to slightly migrate to the wear points. The Ballistol is good stuff too (particularly in an ultrasonic cleaner). So long as you're not using Rem oil or its equivalent for you rifle, you're probably GTG...

Yep. Many options and most seem to do the job just fine. People get pretty damn loyal to their particular brand though.

i have a ported forward assist in my supressed ar15 and this pri gas buster charging handle and my wife has the same setup sans the ported foward assist. Suppressors are the large sig titaniums. Still have gas in the eyes even with eye protection. bcg are toolmade nickle boron so I dont want to upgrade them. Will the rtv sealent trick help at all even if I'm using gas busters already?

I just ordered one today after being disappointed in the upgrade that I REally wanted, ( The Avalanche, Which actually sucks.) Great review man, but I really wanted to know like How Shakey or Loose is it. I would think by its Solid build alone should make it pretty damn sturdy. I'm so excited. If u want i'll let know next week what I think. Cuz I need to take it the Range anyway, Cuz I also just got an Adams Arms Low Mass BoltCarrier. I feel young again, like when I was a kid getting Toys.

BOB Joe well some people are more fortunate family wise. We don't know bradley's situation we can only speculate :) I was in same position as you since Im only 24 and since moved to korea to work. I am still figuring things out. My siblings are engineers but I have too many interests and can't decide on a path. So I just chose teaching for a bit, and made sure it would lead me into my next career as pastry chef. Just gotta be smart about what you do... since sometimes the order of things may matter. Theres a video of me freaking out about my life a year ago on my channel too. A lot has changed since then ^_^

What the hell is he talking about? Chambering 1st round is difficult? Two handed charging? It was ALWAYS designed to be done with one hand obviously. The first time anyone every handed me an AR15 I put my hand over top, on either side, and pulled back. It's not that hard. If we want to talk about the gas busting properties, sure, but if you ever grabbed the CH from one side, or two hands, just stop shooting, go do something else. Wtf. Stop. Why are you doing that? Why do you keep saying 'one handed' like anyone uses 2 hands?
