I like your take on Prometheus a lot. Unfortunately there is no diagetical corroboration in any of the franchise's movies. There is no mention of any symptoms of cognitive sickness after prolonged hypersleep in any of the movies, and this despite Ripley spending 52 years in a sleep pod.

Ridley Scott is a great director, but he's a bad writer/ideas guy. He needs someone else to make a good script/story for him to make a good movie.

I cant believe so many of you cant see the greatness in Prometheus and Covenant that I do. They are easily the 3rd and 4th best movies in the Alien franchise. There are several KZbinrs who have rightly praised Prometheus and Covenant. They don't overanalyze the characters and their actions. They don't whine about the changes in the Alien mythos
