I drank an average of 8 26.9 fl oz bottles of water/day for years and got TIRED of polluting the planet with plastic, carrying in the cases (they are heavy) and EXPENSIVE. Got the Pur pitcher at my grocery store and I love it. I like the taste better than the bottled water and now I got these 40 ounce heavy plastic water bottles which I fill 3/4 full and freeze (I use 3 of them continuously filling/freezing) I keep them tilted as they freeze so I can put water down into the bottle and as it melts I keep refilling it. I take one out of the freezer first thing in the morning and always have ICE COLD filtered water. Then I go to the dog park every day and take a 2nd frozen bottle and fill up the first one so i have a frozen one and a full bottle of water or almost full and keep refilling the frozen one...and I enjoy the hot summer florida weather so much better. Great video. I am going to get the faucet filter and do a double filter still using the pitcher. Cheers.

I'm in need of filtering my water. But so many choices out there and from my understanding anything reasonably priced can not do everything. Zero Water is excellent at removing solids and lead, but does not have the best tasting water and not the greatest at removing other containments. Brita and PUR are on par with one another and removes more types of contaminats, but less over all of any one type, with Brita having the better tasting water. Personally from my understanding you want a filter to take it's time to filter the water. The longer the better. Water that just comes out from the touch of the tap means, to me at least, it did not have time to filter properly. And a major reason I am looking into the water pitcher filters, as it does take time for the water to take it's course through the filter. Have you tried water filter pitchers?

I've been using a Pūr water pitcher all this time. If I knew they made spigot filters, I would have gotten that instead. I think I will get one as soon as I run out of pitcher filters.

I see they still have the same problem with the lever. Also, DEET (N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide) is an insect repellent. Think Off! insect repellent spray. That is (or at least _used to be_ ) the active ingredient.

Here because there was a problem with the water system in my city so I had to rely on bottled water but now I swear I can taste whatever isn’t filtered out the tap. So I’m looking to get this sometime soon

Is the water from the filter supposed to continue to trickle out like this after it’s shut off or switched back to faucet mode..? I have this same model and it does that..it’s like 3-5 extra seconds of running filtered water..

Mine does for a few seconds, I believe it says in the manual that it will drip for a few seconds after turning off. It also says to let it run for a few seconds before putting water into your cup.

Mine doesnt stay on the sink anymore, Had it for about 6 months. If you turn the water on it just falls off. Some kind of problem with the quick release

Sorry to hear that, myine is still working perfect. I think it has a 1 year warranty. I would call or email their customer support and have then send you a replacement part or whole new unit.

I just got one of these and got it all set up, did the 5-minute flush, etc. but the filtered water has black specks in it. Apparently this is charcoal from the filter, but I'm wondering if this is normal and if the unit is working properly

Hello, hope you're doing well. If you take the filter back out and look inside there you'll see a little switch that you can push up and down with your finger sometimes that gets stuck and you can kind of just push it up and down a few times to see if it'll unstick and once it does maybe the light will work at that point. I guess the base has a sealed battery in it and what's that battery goes out then the light will stop working but I never really look at the light anyway what I do is once the water starts coming out really slow so slow that I get tired of waiting to fill up a glass then that's when I replace the filter. I think they say replace it after 3 months but I don't look at the light or the time I just replace it when it starts going real slow Hope that helps take care of my friend and be safe out there

Also very disappointed with the color! The picture is way darker than how it actually looks! Very good idea for those that enjoy bottled waters... get a bunch of nice glass bottles and fill them with your filtered water to use whenever you need them!

Quick question, do I have to flip the lever on everytime I run the faucet or does it filter without the lever on?

You turn the water on and then on the water filter you flip the black lever, once you flip it on it stays on until you flip it off. Even if you turn the water off the water filter would stay on so when you turn the water back on the water would come out the water filter. Think of it like a light switch.

Those are great questions. I have been drinking for years and still healthy as a horse. It says every 2 to 3 months. When I lived in the country the water had of sand and the filters would only last a month or 2 until the stream was very slow and would take 5 minutes to fill up a cup. After moving to the city the filters would last a year without slowing down. Depending on the hardness of your water, faucet mount filters should be changed every 100 gallons or about every 3 months, whichever comes first. If your unit features an LED indicator light, it will turn from green to yellow or red when the filter needs to be replaced. The light will flash only when in use. Green indicates the filter is working. Yellow indicates the filter will need to be replaced soon, while a red light means the filter needs to be replaced immediately. Hope this helps. When I was a kid I drang straight out of the faucet with no filters :)

@@Starrys333 it doesn't have any reading or meter that says pH balance so I'm not for sure all I know is that supposedly the charcoal is supposed to filter out a lot of the contaminants. I can taste and smell the difference if I get a cup of water directly out of the faucet versus running it through the charcoal filter.

I just got this yesterday and installed. It takes FOREVER to fill a glass. Mine certainly doesn't flow like that through the filtered side. I've troubleshooter, taken apart, even thought maybe the filter that came with it was defective so I exchanged it with one of the replacements I bought to have on-hand 🤔 I wonder what's up. Obviously working for others

I think somebody else commented on here cuz they had a problem similar to this with a flow was real low. One way you can test it is just leave the filter out and then turn on the water and then turn on the knob for the filtered water and see if it comes out fast then if it's still coming out slow then you know it's not the filter it's something with the unit itself or how it's installed. Hope that helps let me know how it turns out

@@JohnDaniels hmmm interesting... That flows like crazy! But once the filter is in, barely.. Well, I don't want to say barely, but it is DEF nowhere near what I see on your video.. That said, I have been looking it up and there's a website that gives 8 reason why the flow might not be right.. There's only 1 that MIGHT be applicable.. It says there may be air stuck in the filter, so submerge it in a big cup of water and let it sit for 15 mins. Afterwards, while keeping it upright, gently tap on the side of the sink as if you were trying to get air bubbles out, then (still keeping it upright) run under the faucet for 15-20 seconds, then put it back in the housing and try again to see what happens... Gonna do that as soon as I get back home... Thank you for your input! And video!

When they're new you should turn on the cold water and let it run through there for about 15 to 20 minutes and it should start speeding up but normally when you get them they're super slow until you run a lot of water through them

I purchased the PUR FM2500V Classic Faucet Mount Filter after reading good reviews. However mine drips so slowly that you can go start a project while waiting for a glass of water to fill up as it seriously drips very slowly. It’s not leaking. I tried the provided adapters and chose The one that allows for no leaking. Comes on and off easily. The water tastes great if you have the time to wait for it. Any ideas on how to resolve the problem? I did call the provided customer servíce number proved via the Amazon site as that’s where I ordered it from who referred me to another number to call. Hi Gail, sorry to hear about the unit only dripping. Normally when they are at the end of their hard working little lives they start dripping. Off the top of my head I would think it is a bad filter. For a test you could try running it without the filter inside and see the the water blast out. If it does then I would think it would be the filter.

Hi Eliza,. Hope you're doing good, below is a snippet from the pure website I hope it helps 😉 "The filter change light contains a non-replaceable battery. The battery will eventually stop working but the filter is still functional." So basically it's saying what's that light goes out then it doesn't ever work again you'd have to buy another pure water filter unit. I don't ever use a lot anyway how I do it is I just wait until the water starts running out really slow once it gets so slow that's taking too much time to fill up a glass then I'll replace the filter but they say that you should replace it every 3 months or a certain amount of gallons. But I've been doing it my own way for many years and haven't had any problems.

Hello, thanks for the great question, yes it doesn't make it takes different. for instance the water here at my house used to taste the only way I can describe it is like a bleachy taste after I got the filter it tasted more clean I definitely noticed a difference.

I have an older model pur but mine uses the same blue filter and I been using it 5 years been great except it is starting to leak a bit but I bought a case of replacement filters and just have one left then I will buy a new one.

Yeah that's good info, and I agree it would be nice to be able to actually do a test. The only test I was able to do is to taste test and smell test and you can definitely 100% tell the difference there. But the good thing about the certifications that they have is they are tested by these centers so .
