I’m ready for the next review of how it has broken in! Great video!

How are the boots holding up? I've had mine for about 6 months, wear them 3-5 days a week. Crepe sole is wearing out a bit faster than I had hoped, but even worn flat, it still has plenty of grip. Incredibly comfortable. Get plenty of compliments. To clean them I simply hit them with a hot, soapy water + rag, let them dry, then generously apply redwing leather cream with a dry rag.

Drew Seely as a man who's wore Red Wing work boots for almost 30 years if you're going to walk on asphalt or concrete do not get the white sole . The white wavy soul is made for steel workers who walked on steel beams all day it's not meant for concrete or asphalt. Look souls are meant for outdoor activity slick souls are meant for pavement and asphalt they're not made for ice or snow. Can you go to a Red Wing dealer and they ask you what you do for a living they will provide you a certain shoe in a certain style sole to correspond with your work. The shoes with cork soles simply wear . If you're around people that work on their feet for a living and they use Red Wings they will not buy anything else the hot the high-end steel toes with leather cork insoles are simply unbelievably comfortable after they break in which I believe takes about three weeks to a month for the shoes to really feel comfortable in a 40 Hour Work Week

Charles Richardson very interesting info. You have now made me think about whether or not I should buy the crepe soul boots. I know some people use the Heritage line of boots for work but others like my myself wear them just as daily shoe wear and even to dress up casually. It now sounds silly hearing people complain on how quickly the crepe wears out when they’re walking on surfaces not meant to be walked on with that type of sole.

would love to see a 6 month update. like to see how this boot holds up compared to the 875 sole. wouldn't really compare it to the 8111 sole just because its a harder material an wont wear as fast.

Where's the 6 -12 month review yo?

Agreed, he shows with good clarity the construction between the Iron Ranger & Rover & how they are different pertaining to the heel construction & stitching...kudos

Love my Red Wings. I've never had to size down with any shoe or boot. I've been a size 13 since I was 15 years old.

Rough and tough leather gets darker, isn’t it?

Love my Red Wings. The fit like a glove.,The breaking in is hell though because they’re so narrow but I know they eventually will widen the more I wear then. However. My left foot bunion makes the breaking much worse . I think I might have to have a cobble stretch were the bunion rests .

Wow, nice review & the best shot of patina’d coppers r&t...I must admit, I do love your flatmates well used iron rangers...I’ about to order those very boots...they’re just my style! I’m sure those rovers are gonna wear in really well too before long 👍🏻

Where the Iron Rangers the Copper or Amber? I got the black Iron Rangers and I love them so much . I never liked brown shoes but somehow because of all the boots reviews Ive watched Ive noticed that the most preferred color in boots and even shoes is brown. In fact it’s suggested that your first pair of boots should be brown because it’s more versatile. I’ve seen videos where sone people never buy black shoes.

What about sizing in your case - Rovers vs Iron Rangers?
@Orlanzepol1234 жыл бұрын
They’re both made on the 8 last.
@MarcP52676 жыл бұрын
Maybe that’s why you’re getting blisters they might be too small in width. You mentioned they were tight. They should be comfortably snug and zero pain initially.
@jeffhampton74056 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't understand how people can size down these huge amounts. Im a 13 in sneakers and RW 12s are way too small for me. The 13s are the right size, if maybe just a tiny bit big.

Can't find Rovers at Redwing website. It's like they don't make them now.

They are discontinued. They made them from 2018-2020

Did the tight spot on the side of your rovers (where the stitching is) end up stretching out? I have a similar issue with my new rovers.

I like that thick red lace. Does it come with the iron ranger boot?

Thinking about the same, I'm also a US10 in Nike and when I saw that 8.5 I said... OMG. I have the 875 in a US9.5 and I need insoles and thick socks, so, maybe, the 8.5 is a good decision...
@liljuanito1233 жыл бұрын
@@SpaniardDH I'm a 9.5 in running shoes, 9 on the brannock, I've been getting red wings at 8.5 and that size works great. I don't have enough toe room in 8.

The rover has a polyurethane midsole whereas the blacksmith doesn’t have a midsole at all.

Lace your boots up tighter. You foot shouldnt really be moving in the boot. Also, once they break in that heal will mold to your foot, but not if ypu wear them too loose

It's otay, moc toes don't like you either
@Orlanzepol1234 жыл бұрын
I don’t like Moc Either. But eventually will get one despite. Just want to see if my opinions change. I just love the aesthetics of bulbous toe. I hope RW doesn’t decide to get rid of it since they change what we like.
