Review: Sangean DDR-7 (Genuine Mini)

This small fellow can really play loud and clear in a very convenient size and weighing only 400 gramms. The built-in Li-Ion battery lasts for about 20 hours. The passive radiator on the back and the acoustically tuned wooden cabinet give this little radio a really good sound for it's size!

This looks identical to the Roberts Revival Petite, assume it's made by the same manufacturer? Trying to find a teardown of this receiver (Roberts if possible) as I would like to see if it's possible to convert it into an internet radio.

Yes, thats correct - Sangean is kind of a OEM for radios. If have seen these radios labeled as "Kathrein-Mini" or "Roberts Revival Petite". The Roberts version has the most colour options and it is leather coated instead of high gloss wood. Sangean has released a newer version of this radio called ddr-7x. It has a slightly different button layout and a newer bluetooth version that makes it capable of TWS.

Thanks very much for this review, it's almost exactly what I want. I would have prefered the tuning knob to be used for volume, instead, though.

Yes that would have been better, you way more often adjust the volume then change frequency / channel!

No headphone jack so you cannot use it in private.
