Thank you! The first one would make a cute night gown. I'd love to see you make one of the Jiffy halter dresses and seeing the wrap is knit you could easily turn it into a faux wrap. I'd do a full front skirt underneath with a "wrap" piece on top to avoid the flyaways but still give the same look

I’ve been sewing for 50 plus years, but I just found your channel thinking my granddaughter might get some ideas. She just started sewing at 17. For some reason gramma isn’t up on her style of fashion ideas! Great makes you sewed! Thank you.

Great analysis, as always. I love how you think of things like how you get into a garment, and how a back bow or buttons may be uncomfortable. It has given me a much more critical eye when purchasing patterns.

The line drawing for the first pants DO line up w sample featured. The line drawing depicts the front elastic with the carriers below the waistband. Really cute and fits her great! I will try these!

It looks to me like on the model, one of the belt loops is tacked over the elastic and below the elastic, while the other loop is attached only below the elastic. The line drawing appears to show both loops attached below the elastic. I agree that the belt below the waistband is cute.

The skirt, 9786 has a notation that each view is worn at 1” below the waist. So your observation is spot on. I don’t have any idea why they are doing this though.

I like this collection! The Asian inspired wrap top would be cool for someone who’s had a double mastectomy. I may try to make it fur someone I know. But I also want 9783 and may actually make 9780 into a sexy nightgown

The line drawing for the pants at the beginning of the video show the belt loops below the waistband on view A. Not something I like at first glance, but at least it does depict what the model is wearing. I really like the first dress a lot.

These patterns all seem pretty simple construction. When you lose the tailoring the fit suffers. I kept thinking of how I could fix these patterns 😢

Re 9785 I think they just flubbed up on the sample. I would just change the top of pants to a flat front ands then gather the rest of it.

9794 probably has the zipper because stretch was not as stretchy in the 70’s before spandex.

Hi Lindsey! Thanks for the great review. Quite the pattern dump. A few cute things, but I wonder if the Big 4 have gone back to their confusion over their target audience for each brand. Some of these feel like they should have been in the McCalls collection. Any way, a word of CAUTION for those considering that off the shoulder, ruched top S9789/9790(the banner pattern). Don't do it! Take a close look at the gathering across the bust and waist! The pattern, I suspect, is drafted from S9451, which is AWFUL! I made 9451 twice thinking it was me -- that I didn't gather it properly. It's the pattern. Pulls at the shoulder, weird bulk between the underarm and waist, funky gathering across the bust. I see the same problems with this new pattern.

I had a stretch dress similar to the halter dress. I felt beautiful in it. The one shoulder with the grown on sleeve- just no, yuck.

Nah, the back rise is too short in the back. She has a wedgie already. Imaging how painful sitting will be. Maybe it will work with a stretch fabric.
