17:50 In the discussion about rewinding the game to account for something overlooked: for me, it would depend on if it would/could have happened in real life. For instance, if I forgot about the fact that one of my men ran out of rifle bullets, and he's spent a couple of turns picking off enemies with an empty weapon, that would have to be rewound, since that couldn't happen in real life. But, if, for instance, I forgot that one of my men has grenades that would have made a difference over the past couple of turns... well, that happens in real life, so I'd just write it off as "Bobby was so focused on surviving, that he forgot about his grenades until now," and keep playing.

I'm not suggesting that you aren't a pair of really attractive guys but it would be nice to see some of the game components.

I own the footlocker, and I thought I had a lot with the first 5 expansions, but when I put them in the footlocker, they took up a very small part of the box and I realized how much stuff I don't have. They give you some cards that you need other expansions to use in each expansion to coax you into buying more of them. If you are a person who needs to sleeve cards in your game, expect to pay a lot for sleeves. I played one scenario where I needed to blow up an ammo dump so needed explosives to do it and during the mission I drew off a large number of germans using a soldier who was their target, then after getting to the objective I realized he was carrying the explosives... great fun. One of my favorite parts of good solo games, is methodical game play, and a solitaire game that you don't have to play differently solo then from coop play. 60.00 usd on DVG website less if you buy it from other online vendors

Welcome to the Warfighter series guys! Good luck not buying EVERYTHING, lol. I haven't dipped into the WWII stuff, but I own every single thing for the Modern/Operator series and the Footlocker is FULL and an absolute necessity. Fantastic game that honestly with all the expansions, I doubt you could ever play every single combination...not many games offer that level of replay.

Best solitaire game in my collection just because of its relative simplicity. Commancheria and TAL are great but not as intuitive. As a solo experience it's a bit procedural at times but with 2+ players the tension and tactics feel more immediate with players shouting and banging on the table. Looking forward to playing the Korean War campaign soon. Can't wait for Vietnam and ww2 wave 3 in North Africa! Also, if players kit out their own soldier(s) as specialists (medic/point man/gunner/etc) it really makes the tactical play and action timing even more engrossing and fun.

Really excited to see a full playthru! I’m more interested in the ETO but I’ll gladly watch and probably get the WWII ETO edition with maybe a few expansions ;)

Nice Review! Made me order Warfighter 2nd WW with the 2 Germany expansions. :) Are there any "must have" expansions?
@ThePlayersAid
@ThePlayersAid 4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, no. There's a few I would recommend as stand out ones, but the game you get in the box is eminently playable. The Beach Landings one is one of my favourites. Other than that I just got the expansions that were more of what I already had, more American soldiers, more Japanese enemies etc. Greater variety means even more replay.

Hey Grant... seriously, INVEST in the footlocker. YES... it's heavy, and YES, it will take some time to fully organize it, BUT... after you do this.... you'll be OK. The dividers make things a lot easier.*** Here's a challenge... take a mission... use two players (or three?) Each player takes a different side (one... American, the next, Japanese, the last... Chinese) ... each player picks his/her squad, then place the objective in the middle, deciding how many cards it takes to get there... see you accomplishes that mission first. Food for thought... worth a try.

Or else, buy yourself a nice wooden 3 wine bottle box, customize rows with plywood, paint it water based colour, make.dividers with eva rubber, write on them with chalk pen, and just if you want laser carve the name of the game on top lid. All in you will spend 20-25$ and youll be able to store 900 sleeved cards per box. I have two of those and a third coming with shadow war. They store beautifully.

May I ask? They sell warfighter WW2 miniatures? I never knew how to play as a kid but I bought the miniatures because I thought they were awesome lol. But where do they come in to play in the game?...

Good review. Looks like it strikes a nice balance between accessibility and complexity. I imagine that the expansions are very important to provide long term replayability and meaningful variability. Many card games have a lot of content but often focus more on breadth of variability rather than depth that truly changes the core experience.

The amount of expansions is a bit deception. The game is the exact same game playing Americans versus the Germans as playing the Germans versus the Americans. So, while each expansion adds a bit of new gameplay, it isn't as much as it appears. The most significant are the airborne expansions and the vehicles (although you need at least two of the $30 vehicle expansions in order to use them).
@michaelrobertson3369

@@Hedgehobbit Yes, that is what I meant. A lot of it looks like adding flavour rather than different types of play experience. Definitely on my list, though!

Would you rather play a Warfighter game, or one of DVGs Leader games? I’m thinking of picking up either Warfighter Modern or Hornet Leader.
@ThePlayersAid
@ThePlayersAid 5 жыл бұрын
This question is a time based one, for me. A single mission of Phantom Leader resolves far quicker than a mission of warfighter.

You can’t really compare this with Fields Of Fire, because their both different in scale. Warfighter is squad level, whereas FOF is platoon level.

Hey Guys! BOY... do I know ALL the stuff that comes with this game! When this game came on KS, I went in for not only Pacific and all the goodies, but Europe and all the goodies as well... even Korea, the Zombies, and such. WHY... you might ask? Because, as a tactical game player, THIS GAME is the gamer's most AWESOME sandbox. I can't imagine EVER running out of scenario's, or points-of-view, in terms of who's doing what. You can arm your guys with a variety of weapons, and comprise your squads with specialists. The BEST PART is you can mix and match any of the Warfighter games and soldiers to create new scenarios. A modern fire team taking on WWII russians? Yes you can! Saint Dan is working on Warfighter Fantasy.... yes, knights, dragons, and who knows what else. I'd love to hear how a six player coordinated game went. As always, you guys put up a great review VLOG... keep up the great work.

The "environmental" rules in this game for heat stroke, etc, are more operational in my mind, and therefore "OUT OF PLACE" in this game. Yeah, it can and does happen in Pacific and Vietnam. But WHEN you place such rules (strictures, I mean that's what these really are) on a tactical team of only 3-4+ individuals, well that's devastating. Even if you consider it "heat stroke". Malaria, dissentary, etc have no business being modeled in a tactical setting, PERIOD.
