I currently have klipsch 600m and a klipsch subwoofer paired with the cambridge acr85 amp. Even though the sound is very good, I find it fatiguing or shrill after an hr or so of listening. Im considering changing to wharfedale and rega brio because from what I have read this will produce a warmer more relaxing sound (which is what Im aiming for…smooth relaxing, yet powerful and sophisticated enough to appreciate in a smallish room). Will the Lintons eliminate the need for a subwoofer? My library is average to small in size so nor sure weather Dentons would be better or would lintons be overkill? Id really like to remove the subwoofer out of the equation too.

Purchased Lintons. What’s the thought on Denton 85s taking the center and rear positions to compliment Lintons in a Frankenstein HT setup? I think Dentons could timbre match well with Lintons. Thoughts?

@@MusicDirectChicago since I can’t find a way to purchase just one Denton 85 for center duty, Wharfedale offered the Diamond 12.C to compliment my Frankenstein HT Linton/Denton setup. Thoughts? Do you feel the 12.C is timbre matched for duty with Lintons & Denton 85s?

We agree with our friends at Wharfedale; timbrel matching with the speakers as a whole is why I'd follow their lead. Depending on source material, the 12.C has the necessary detail for vocal-based content to support the set up while allowing the Denton/Linton cocktail to deliver on your 5.1 ambitions. i am in huge dilemma between Linton and KEF50S meta. I really love Linton but couldn't find enough backing for my use case. Mostly i gonna use Linton to playback videos and movies , music gonna be occasional. And some complaining its muddy treble which is quiet important for movies as per my understanding sorry if i am wrong . Help me please.

Boy do we feel your pain, Ryvan! Depending on your gear, sources and music tastes, the Linton has the upper hand, if you prefer a warmer, more full range listening experience. Also i heared that the tweeters performance of the Lintons kinda grainy at some point . Is that true and noticeable ? and i am probably gonna get a pretty good amps but does it compliments what linton lacks naturally? and what linton really lacks ? aha

Definitely - the 85th Anniversary editions offer a larger cabinet, 6.5” bass driver over the smaller 5” driver on the 80th. Additionally, the tweeter arrays are mirrored for best effect in either slim or wide room installations.
