322 vs 330 swingweight will give that sort of performance difference. Blade 100 really needs a bit of extra weight in the head so outcomes will be closer in real world play.

I switched from the Speed MP to the Blade 100, mostly because of the solid foam filled feel and softness of the blade. The head being more round is also more forgiving. But I did have to weigh the Blade up or else it just didn’t have enough oomph. That thinner beam asks for more weight.

I liked the CX 400 Tour. Felt easy to play with and loads of control. Didn’t have much power though and was surprisingly somewhat stiffer than I was expecting. Really good for flat hitting. Overall I thought it was a bit boring and bland, head speed mp was more power, spin and more fun to play with. Blade 100 had huge pop and crisp feel. Went with the speed mp lol

Really enjoy these reviews from you. Nice job! I prefer faster swinging racquets mainly on serve. It gives me more power and control, so Blade for me.

The SpeedMP had a higher SW. If you add 2 to 3 grams at noon to the Blade100v9, I think you would get comparable power from the Blade. I demo-ed the SpeedMP Light as a possible platform racket but liked the feel and control of the Blade100v9 a bit more. I added 2.5 grams at noon and it has plenty of power now and it also adds stability.

I recently switched from the Speed MP 2024 to the Blade 100 v9. And quite honestly, I haven’t looked back. The Speed felt like I was swinging a club with how sluggish it was with the high SW, and my shots were way too launchy and hard to control, essentially forcing me to hit loopy topspin in order to keep the ball in. The Blade is loaded with control, gives me surgical precision on shots, better for drive/striking and flat hitting, and just felt so nice to swing through the air. Two things I miss about my speed mp, admittedly, is how forgiving it felt on off center hits, and just how stable it felt on contact with every ball. I think the speed tries to do everything without truly having an identity, but it definitely has its fans, and I tried so hard to like it and just in the end felt right at home with the Blade

Excellent comparison gents. Would you say that the Blade is more comfortable to play with / less stiff than the Speed?
@tilenmlakar70369 ай бұрын
They play very similarly, yes Blade feels softer because of the foam inside the handle (probably), Auxetic stiffens the racuqet upon impact but it is not uncomfortable by any means. Just depends what sort of feeling you prefer when hitting the ball.
@macattack789 ай бұрын
Pedantic nerd alert…🚨 “Blade feels thinner”. It is thinner. According to TW specs anyway… Speed MP is 23mm v 22mm. So no surprise if it’s more powerful. FYI It’s also less head light by 1pt, 5g lighter in static weight unstrung, but most importantly… 9 swing weight points lighter. So pretty interesting that you guys felt it’s more solid / stable etc. surely beam thickness and SW are pretty big factors to compare… would be great if you’d include. FWIW - I use both blade 98 and 100 v8. Precision / control not a massive difference. Just more power and bigger sweet spot on the 100. Does feel ‘softer’ though v. 98 which is more solid. Also, genuine question - do you guys compare the specs on an RDC machine before doing these comparisons? Given how wildly different each stick can be off the shelf due to poor QC - especially Head and Wilson.. those differences may be even greater! (Or vice versa). enjoy the vids - just thought I’d chip in! 🥸 cheers!

I found the Blade 100 to be a tweener in a negative sense. It doesn't offer enough power to justify the lack of maneuverability and stability you get with a light, 100 square inch spec. If you don't need the kind of power the Speed MP offers, you will get better playability with the Blade 98 than the 100.

@LarzB9 ай бұрын
The swing weight of the speed mp is too high for most people. On top of that I hate that Head speed moved to 23mm beam. I have tried different speed (mp and pro) from the graphene 360 and newer. From that point the changed the beam width to 23mm. The one before (speed Graphene touch, SInner's racket) was a little bit too muted, but the one before that the Speed GrapheneXT is actually the best. I have that one in the LTD version and it beats all the ones after that. Good direct control of the ball, good feedback, 22mm beam, swing weight twist weight that has room for customization without it getting too clunky. Oh on top of that they spread out the crosses from the graphene 360 and up as well, which made the string bed a little bit erratic. Because of the 23mm beam and more clunky feel of the speed since the graphene 360 I have that older speed mp grapheneXT and for the newer rackets I moved to gravity (a way underspec gravity pro, more like the gravity tour but with the 20mm beam in stead of 22mm). In this comparison the blade 100 is much better on all parts, just add 1 or 1,5 grams to 12 and it blows the speed out of the water on all categories.

@@robalberts you should try the gravity tour and gravity mp. I think those rackets are great follow ups of the speed. I would take the gravity over the blade 100. I haven't tried the blade 100. The last blade i tried was the 98 v8 18x20 which was good, but i missed proper feedback from the ball in the string bed, so i was a bit lost so now and then. I also have had the blade 102 sw v5, or was it 104. But the Serena version v5 at least. That was a beast of a racket. Like a cheater racket. A bit too powerful for me. With the blade v8 i was able to have some great slap forehand winners that were rockets through the court.

@@kkarx yeah that was my experience as well. The older 22mm version was fine. I don't know why it felt clunkiee, but it changed that way when they added the 1mm extra.
