Just got this antenna and installed on my roof. Getting great reception. I think the antenna will withstand wind very well, but I wouldn’t want a small limb to fall on it.

That plastic mount probably wouldn't last long in Las Vegas, NV. Thanks for pointing that out.

Did you contact seller for a replacement? Would like to have a review about a non damaged antenna!

I live in a co-op apartment where I am not allowed to have an antenna (or satellite dish) on the roof or outside my window. I've been using an Antennas Direct Clearstream flat antenna taped to my window, but I got poor to no reception on channels 7, 9, 11 & 13 (in NYC). The ironic thing is before the switch to digital broadcasts, channel 7 used to be the station with the strongest signal/best picture. While I don't have an attic, I do have a corner in my living room with windows facing 90 degrees apart. I came up with an idea for a very janky set up with a Wineguard Elite antenna. I bought a coat rack for $20 and the antenna for $100. I just set it up in the corner attached to the coat rack with velcro ties. There may be a slightly better picture on the stations I already got, but no luck on 7 through 13. But if the pandemic ever ends and I ever again have company in my apartment, I at least have a modern art sculpture as a conversation starter.

What is the purpose of the plastic cover on this antennal? Seems that it just adds extra load on a windy day.

I’m very skeptical of these type of antenna’s. Most are junk! I just put up a Winegard 7694P yesterday and it is excellent. Blew away multiple name brand antenna’s that were double the cost. Note you must check your area. We only have one HIGH VHF channel in the Chicago area. The rest are UHF.

Cool looking setup but yeah seems a tad flimsy.

We are surrounded by lots of tall trees, do yi=ou recommend?

So what other 70 Mile antenna do you recommend? I am looking to get one for my attic. I was looking at the sky 60 but that is only 60 miles.

RCA Yagi (Amazon) ANT751E

There is no way any 70-mile range antenna would work in an attic. You are just killing its gain. I would buy the Televes DATBOSS Mix UHF VHF Amplified Outdoor HDTV Antenna LTE Filter (149483) if you are going to pick up VHF and UHF channels.
@kalijasin2 жыл бұрын
Millage claims are largely marketing. 1. TV antennas have sensitivity and gain Not range. 2. The curvature of the earth makes signals 70+ miles out almost impossible to pick up.

Personally I miss Luke. No offense to Mr. Palermo intended. But I miss Luke.

With the whole screw driver story it sort of sounds like you're trying to defend yourself for breaking it. Any time you're working with plastics you should always use "kid gloves". This antenna gets great reception.
@tikitime43496 жыл бұрын
What about is you have a metal roof and put this in the attic ??? Is it going to work? Anybody
@robertogalvez38655 жыл бұрын
I would not do it. A metal roof could block up tp 50% of your antenna gain. Must use it outdoor in this case.
@robertogalvez38655 жыл бұрын
@Google User I installed a TV antenna on a mezzanine office inside a warehouse with metal roof and metal walls. it did not loose 80-90% of the signal.
@tazdevl20003 жыл бұрын
tell my why it matters that it is wobbly when you grab it by your hands and pull it? If it is mounted on the side of the house or attic who is going to pull on it? For 70 how does the plastic compare to other models are they all metal? I am more concerned with its reception which i didnt hear enough of from you.

This antenna is far over priced! You can obtain a winegard freevision antenna & get an indoor amplifier to do the job

So this thing is cheap and it broke.. Got it... No idea if it works but I know its cheap and it was broke
@slamdmh6 жыл бұрын
Is this antenna direct or omnidirectional.
@slamdmh6 жыл бұрын
Winegard's website says it is directional
@PinchnerHouse6 жыл бұрын
It is directional, but I’m still getting good signal from all directions. I pointed it toward my most distant stations and still get the closer ones well, even one 30 miles away almost directly the opposite of where I have it pointed. Although it’s a little flimsy, I’m very happy with the performance. I’ve tried a couple of rooftop antennas over the past few years and this one is giving me the best overall reception.
@bobmohr49523 жыл бұрын
Maybe they used plastic where metal would have caused interference. Just saying.
@richarderickson59656 жыл бұрын
For me I would pass on buying the antenna, like what Luke said, it's too flimsy.
@robertschoemer12506 жыл бұрын
According to Winegard this antenna does not support Lo-VHF, so no good for Philly area. Also their is no issue with construction per their e-mail. I will pass on buying.
@ronedwards82395 жыл бұрын
Google User That was already established. 6 is low VHF. The antenna doesn’t support it. Most markets don’t broadcast in low VHF anymore.
@jrearick87636 жыл бұрын
this thing is far overpriced build quality is that of a $20.00 chinese antenna.No one makes a good quality build to last years. I have a Freevision antenna that is built well but use Channel Master matching transformer sealed with silicone
