I'm just happy I got to hear the word 'dongle'. As for the device, the range and latency are the issues. At 10-15 feet, I'll just use a cable.

Many years ago, the HDMI cable was a lifesaver for connecting KZbin Video to my dumb TV. Then I got the Google Chromecast dongle which was an even better lifesaver for casting computer to TV, without worrying about tripping over an HDMI cable. Now I have a Smart TV. But I still use Chromecast to watch programs from my TV that are not available via streaming service.

Having to recharge these things would be a hassle, I thought there was power in the wiring circuitry in HDMI cables and connection devices so wondering why they didn't just use that. Also the 1080p limitation - does it at least go down to 720 for video programs in that format? And the 10 - 15 ft limitation on broadcasting is a turn-off considering a basic home wi-fi set-up is pretty good at distributing signal around a standard size house or large apartment. I'd say not worth it except for very specialized situations.

Question for Luke: what can you tell us about the new ATT Internet Air that is now out?
@TigerClaw3056 ай бұрын
This one only seems to do 1080p, But they have others that can do up to 4K.

Just wondering about using two different transmitters with one receiver? Say you only have one HDMI port open on your TV, but want to use both a streaming box and a DVD player or game console…

That would be cool to put a tv out side the back yard to watch sports or something while bbq

This device has to connect with a power cable. So, total number of cables is not reduced.

Luke do you think that streaming will become like free over the air broadcast tv where the services are free with a discount? I’m skeptical of what do might think about this?

Streaming is better than cable

Interesting, but I don't think I have any use for it. I'm happy with the cables.

But cable is getting old

Personally for long-term use this or any wireless HDMI are a poor choice. Alternatively, I'd use 'screen mirroring ' via WiFi or simply cut a hole through a wall behind the TV with one of many easy solutions. Now if you're visiting .. eg hotel, office or someones home then certainly it's an option.

**WAY OVER PRICED** for what you get. Since actual effective range is 10' ... I will use a cable and spend the $100+ on beer 🤣🤣🤣
@mybachhertzbaud30746 ай бұрын
Range, latency and just generally more Wi-Fi noise pollution are certainly a down side to me. Maybe ok for mobile users for easy connections. I think a Chromecast is better for that though.🤔

Cordless except for the power cord. I'll just hide the HDMI cable.
