This is the first thing I ever agreed to do a review on, but it took until just now for them to get the product back in stock. I am avoiding most review opportunities and I'm very picky. I am curious to know what my audience thinks of review videos such as this.

It's a cool product and you showed it in an interesting way, if you can keep doing that and keep it fresh then go for it.

There's nothing wrong with reviewing something, as long as you're up front if it's a sponsored review and you give your honest opinion. Matthias Wandel has some reviews on his channel that are good examples, where the sponsor just wants exposure and the reviewer gets to say whatever they want.

That was a very nice review. I have seen other reviews on hat but this was the best one. He thing I like about your videos is that you don't spend too much time on humor and you know what your talking about. I know you are more of a scratch built guy but maybe do some more. I'm not asking to completely stop doing scratch builds but a few more review. Another thing I like is that you give the info direct and to the point and give just the right amount of details. You explain how the things work. The main plus about you is that you have a diverse look on things and a diverse knowledge. Because you are a full scale pilot and an rc pilot and know a little about engineering you can give the info and compare them. Ps- have you ever thought about taking a career in aeronautical engineering. I think it would work for you.

That review was great. If your going to do more in the future, just remember(not that you were in this video because you weren't) don't be biased like josh bixler from flite test.

Great review. Only constructive criticism is that I would have preferred to hear the "provided for me" disclaimer at the beginning rather than end.

The beaver is such an awesome plane.

Oh they're so cool. Not efficient, but so cool! They cost about $300/hr to operate, and most operators charge $700/hr. But it carries 8 people and can easily load 55 gallon barrels!
@RealEngineering8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I just find the ruggedness of it really appealing. Them and the Piper/Super Cub are just awesome. Watching them land is amazing

My top 3 planes would have to be the P51D, DHC-2 Beaver like this one, and of course the A12(lesser k own but faster and more inefficient SR-71)

Incredible aircraft the beaver, they are often the aircraft of choice when the elements are against you. Great vid mate.

Hey Sam, can you please put together a hobbyking basic parts shopping list? I want to build my own planes but picking which receivers and which servos etc is a bit overwhelming with all the choice. Thanks
@SammSheperd8 жыл бұрын
I may try and do that. If other experienced people want to make one too that would be cool. At this point I've just been reusing stuff for so long.

Great review. I didn't think that you could get a full-featured brushless plane for under $100. Maybe I'll go for one.

I just ordered an A600 from GearBest. Can you tell me what uprated battery I can use to get more filght time, and I'm wondering if it will also give the motor additional power? I'm expecting no. Also, GearBest no longer seems to carry a lot of parts for the Beaver. Just a few.
@SammSheperd8 жыл бұрын
I found the flight time to be more than enough, and I doubt you can fit a much bigger battery in there.
@guitartec8 жыл бұрын
I won't have the ability to charge out at the field, so I want the largest capacity battery I can find. Are you talking about physical size when you say bigger, b/c I found a few 7.4V batteries that appear to be similar in size to the origial, but they have like 1200mAh. I'm not sure what battery specs I need to follow other than the 7.4V.
@SammSheperd8 жыл бұрын
Well, you could try and fit a 400mah 2s in there, check the connector type. But the best option in my opinion is to get more of the same battery
@guitartec8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I just ordered 2 more oem batteries on BangGood.com. Wish GearBest had more parts for this plane. Their prices are usually better.
@sawajiri1006 жыл бұрын
Very very nice RC plane XK brand win here 😃
@averagejoe60318 жыл бұрын
Gearbest is awesome. They have so many deals. Do an epesode on gearbest the and the top deals they have. They have flash sales and like this one they had a 3d ultra micro quad. The original price was around 50 bucks. They have a limited time deal for 10 bucks. That's crazy! There is one thing thing that's weird that on some of their products you can choose the color but the price varys by which color you chosse. Nice review. I subscribed a cupe days ago. Made the right choice.

Hi Samm, I know this is a little bit off topic, but as you're a pilot i though i might ask, what advice can you give someone who has a really bad fear of flying? The review was great by the way.
@hayd73718 жыл бұрын
cool! what's the battery life like for this?
@SammSheperd8 жыл бұрын
+Hayden Kibble it's actually up around 15 minutes!
@paude82437 жыл бұрын
How much does the battery last? 300 mAh seems little..
@SammSheperd7 жыл бұрын
Pretty long actually, small battery for a small plane
@paude82437 жыл бұрын
Yes! 300 mAh would last like 8mins in a small drone.
@averagejoe60318 жыл бұрын
Hey, for your next review of you do one how about the wl toys f949 Cessna 182 from gearbest. It is around 30 dollars, it is an rtf, it is 3 channel, and I hear it a pretty decent trainer or even first airplane for what the price is. They sell spare parts like spare motors, props, wings control horns and receiver/ servos/ esc board things. I know your a d.i.y guy but think about it.
@isaaclyonsf17 жыл бұрын
Joe H.S, that was my first plane! I recommend it for the price, I never broke anything, and I used to "abort" by lawn darting it😃.
