Man those 3m wipes are like magic. It's amazing what a difference this $15 kit can make.

At about 5:25 I think if you are doing wet sanding, the problem is not too much water, rather you need much more/longer sprays so as to wash all of the slurry away and to see how you are getting along before continuing to sand. Also wash the slurry off of the sanding disk so as to unclog it. Have a couple spray bottles handy that put out a good heavy spray or even have the garden hose handy. Some kits may have a fine creme polish that you use to smooth the plastic after the last part of the sanding. By the time the clearcoat/sealer applications are to begin everything should be completely cleaned of polish and sanding slurry and completely dry, maybe with the use of a clean microfiber cloth. Helps to have the hood at least partially open.

2 things first raising the hood helps speed up taping and time not to mention somewhere to rest the drill, Second a step was missing the headlight polishing to hydrate and seal the lens? And give extra clarity and shine, I don't recommend the wipes, I prefer Meguiars clearcoat with added UV protection! One coat it drys fast and you still have enough left over for a least two more sets of headlights, As a novice not bad!!🤔🇬🇧👍

Good job! My question: if you had swirl marks when done, do you think they were visible after final sanding? They say it should still be "hazy".. Mine is,but not perfectly even haze. Sounds almost impossible to get even haze.🙄

Make sure you don;t have build up of material in the sandpaper disks, that might be causing it to make it a little hazier than it should.

If you get swirl marks at the end of sanding this means your pressing to hard!!! Only the lightest pressure is required? Plus you don't get a cloged up disk!!!🤔🇬🇧👍

To be honest these kits are a waste of your time . T cut and polish brings 99% of headlights up like new and takes a fraction of the time !

Try removing old baked on Clearcoat, Then you'll find out how important sanding disk are T cut alone is useless!!!🤔🤣

@@keithroberts5611 🤣🤣 I've done my method on 6 cars different makes and it's worked. Clear coat 🤣🤪 unless some DIY Idiot has put that on it's not an issue, because that's not what manufacturers put on their headlights 🙄

@@stuartwilliams8663Nonsense all car manufacturers use a clearcoat on new headlights (fact)🤔

@@keithroberts5611 There is something on there new, don't know if different car brands have different final coatings,if you do a "restoration" without replacing the final layer/clearcoat/protectant with something I think you will get very rapid deterioration and yellowing. I think the clearcoat needs to be something special for plastic headlight lenses, not necessarily the same thing as clearcoat for car painted surfaces.
