Why: Has a laser sensor instead of an optical sensor. Also i'm pretty sure I can guess the sensor name just from those specs alone. Well I can't confirm because I can't find anything on this mouse on Google but I assume it's probably in most other laser mouses.

@@FatheredPuma81 I know i'm late, but his is not true, the difference is, an optical mouse while not reaching high as a DPI as laser will have more precision cause it detects way less variance. than a Laser mouse. a Laser mouse does have the advantage of being used on any surface while and optical can pretty much only be used on reletively smooth Opaque surfaces ((that don't scater light))

I saw this mouse on kickstarter. I had absolutely no hope in this product. They had "professional" gamers review this mouse. I looked all of them up. Nothing. Not one person was real. I contacted and got a hold of one of the people running the kickstarter. I asked him about the pro gamer's reviews. Never responded.

Good God those reviews hurt my large Italian weiner. Personally, I would recommend that G403 prodigy. I'm not a big fan of side buttons for the simple problem of panic pressing them. I don't know why I do that, I just do. I like the mouse I mentioned because I prefer larger mice. Although as cringey as these folks are, watching my buddy play get over it with a trackball is still the hardest to watch moment gaming related ever. Lord was it spastic. I use a Razer Naga Chroma and I love it. It’s like $50 or $60 I think and it not only looks great but also fits my hand well. I have 12 customizable buttons. For example: CS:GO: 1-3 are the 1-3 numbers, 4-8 are grenade buttons, 11 is voice coms, 12 is crouch/shift. Thanks to that I can immediately swap guns without having to use the scroll wheel and I can walk without without moving my left hand.

this will probably get burried but I have a couple of comments: 1. While the joystick on a mouse idea honestly is one of the stupidist ideas I've heard of, howcome no one has done this with a keyboard yet? maybe I'm just an idiot, but if you put an analog stick on the left hand side of a keyboard, and left off the 10 key, you could make pretty good best of both worlds combination of keyboard and gamepad, but maybe I'm just not thinking it through. 2. people may laugh, but there actually is a fairly intense minecraft PVP scene, and I can tell you as someone who has dabbled in it, it's way more complicated than it looks, you've got ranged, melee, throwable potions, enchantments, and the fact that people can use blocks to deform the terrain means that there are many differant builds and strategies involved in minecraft PVP; it's not my cup o' tea, but it's not a crazy as it sounds.

I primarily use it b/c a joystick allow more range of movement than shift-wasd. Good for rpg and fps. help line up a good shot or make character walk at a speed in between full sprint and grandma walk.

Rags Here a thought, which I missed in your video. Why not buy a mechanical keyboard with analog switches (like Wooting) and combine this with a regular mouse. Then you also have this controller-function without sacrificing anything. You know, for when you walk with a NPC or use a car, airplane or chopper in a game. I would say that this underlines how useless this mouse is: you would pay less with this combination (Wooting One and a good Logitech mouse) than with this mouse and an ordinary mechanical keyboard. Other than that. It is cool that they try out something different (analog controller on mouse). It is not cool that reviewers do a 100% positive review (and sometimes without reviewing) because they want to have a good relationship with the company. For us viewers it makes it easy to find out which reviewers we should put on our blacklist.

ACTUALLY using your thumb to zoom gives you a small advantage because you don't change your hand position and don't use a different half of your brain or something like that ...but you can just use your side buttons for that.

Glad someone else had the same opinion I did with this mouse. When I saw the kickstarter, I thought "huh that sounds interesting", however thinking about it more, I started to realize these features don't make much sense, especially the tilting feature, as I got the impression it would be a pain keeping your hand steady to not activate buttons by accident. The side joystick seemed like it could be useful in some situations, such at controlling freelook or the camera angle in 3rd person games, but as Rags points out, it's rather redundant. Would be nice if the mouse had removable covers, so you could choose if you wanted a mouse with 10 buttons or the joystick.

Hey Rags, I just had a suggestion for you. Can you maybe change the colour of your background? It's very bright, and if I have it open on my second monitor, it gets way too bright for me. I don't know if others have this problem, but I feel like a light or darker grey would be less harsh on the eyes.

I have a logitech mouse that has a few buttons on the side where i can use them with my thumb IF i need them. I got to the thumbstick part and my mind was like 'why?'. Also best doggo.

The steam controller was a unique concept but look how that turned out (I actually really like my steam controller but it’s incredibly niche and has several things that annoy me about it)

That is true, it plays Resident Evil games just fine, for instance, but that's because they're fixed camera angles and even up to 5 didn't really use the right stick for much. That said, I hate hate HATE the upward swept design, no idea who thought that feels good in the hand :(

I can see this working for flight sims. The "axis features and joysticks would actually add more functionality. Im not going to purchase it myself due to the price, but i can kinda see it being a bit useful.

But really, if you're into flight sims, you probably already have a joystick and thruster and if you want to get into flight sims, there are joysticks and thrusters cheaper than this mouse, so I don't see the functionality

As a beginning animator, and video editor, Adobe after effects has multi button short cuts which are not hard, but can hurt my hand after a while. I wonder if this mouse could help in editing by binding some of the shortcuts to the joystick like next frame, key frames, and value changes.

I can think of one other use for the 3d joystick axis feature, which would be that the side to side motion you could probably use in games like rb6 to tilt your character around corners, which even then sounds like you would constantly do it by accident, so maybe not even that.

ADNS-9800 LOL. Trash sensor with noticeable acceleration at 400 DPI, with 130$ price tag? What in the actual fuck.....Talk about uninformed consumers...Buy a mouse with pw3360 and the best click switches in the industry, for less then 50$, never look back. For those interested Logitech g403 or G pro. There's tons of other mice that utilize quality sensors, but I doubt any will match the quality of Logitech's switches, or the price.

I fell for the Logitech G900 meme. Don't get me wrong, it's the best mouse I've ever had, I LOVE this mouse, but I definitely could have gotten much of the same enjoyment out of a 600, 500 or 400 series. The wireless feature is nice for couch gaming though, and the wireless is superb as far as wireless goes. Edit: (Oh, and I will say that the G900's mechanical pivot-bar click is sublime)

As far as the G900, rocket ninja pretty much gives logitech wireless the thumbs up, little to no noticeable input delay. As far as best mouse you've ever had, If you play FPS games the simplicity and quality of the g403 or G pro is incredible. The low retail cost combined with quality components makes it my go to performance peripheral, and I own alternatives such as Finalmouse, Steelseries, and Razer. All of this is obviously my opinion, but with previous quality control issues with other more expensive brands I previously mentioned, Logitech is the clear winner. I'd say almost any of the gaming models they offer that have a pixart 3360 line of sensor, which the g900 has, will be quality.

Thanks! Seems like they give the 900 a pretty solid review. To prove how uninformed I am, I didn't actually know that there was a wireless version of the 403. I might have to pick one up as a dedicated for my work PC. I've previously had a Razer and a Steelseries. The Steelseries was unremarkable, and while I liked the DeathAdder, it's a little too aggressively contoured for my tastes. I don't see myself going back anytime soon after switching to Logitech.

unfairlight That is simply not true at all. The G203 looks pretty much identical to the G Pro, but uses a vastly inferior sensor to the PW3366, which is widely accepted as the most accurate sensor on the market. Why bother with anything but the best, when the best costs 45$? FYI I own a G203 G403 G Pro and Finalmouse Ergo V2. The g203 feels somewhat unique and a bit janky, the other 3 mice have the same sensor and feel nearly identical in how they track. I also have a Steelseries 300 that uses PW3310, it also feels nearly identical to other mice with very similar sensor. TL;DR you're getting caught up in looks and price, remember you're basically buying quality sensor and click switches. The rest is just hype.

unfairlight if the differences were so minor, they would be indistinguishable side by side. That is simply not the case. I would gladly choose any of the mice I named other then the g203, because the differences in tracking smoothness are legitimately that noticeable. Saying "vastly inferior" is a disingenuous opinion is simply wrong, especially when I own both mice and have literally tested them side by side.

I also use a 12 button MMO mouse for everything. I don't think I've ever used all 12 buttons (7 was probably the most I used) but yeah. I find it easier to map things like interact, melee, reload ect to mouse buttons. For starters it allows me to do those things with my dominant hand and focus on just using the keyboard for movement alone, which for me is ideal. If my current mouse breaks, I'll definitely buy another one that has at least 6-7 buttons on the thumb side, it's just far too damn useful to give up.

A lot late to finding Rags, but thanks to Mauler and TDW I came across his content. Glad to see the same quality. That last reviewer that you did for the best example as to why people get concerned and untrustworthy over paid promotions.
